I am a very absent minded person.I also keep forgetting things every now and then.At times, I even forget my important appointments and meetings.I do write a note and keep it with me but the funny thing, I always forget to look at it.What about you?

Hi brisk, Its good to know now that I'm not the only! I am like this most of the time! Whenever I have to go get some groceries I will write a list because I always forget something when I get back to home! And guess what I will be in the supermarket and start finding where I put my list, lol. I'm not sure if theres a medicine for this! Happy mylotting friend.

Thank you, you make me feel better. I've gotten better about appointments because I write them down on a dry erase board in my kitchen. And I also write them down on my calander in the bedroom and kitchen and my appointment book in my purse. My big problem is that I am in the midst of organizing my home and workshop. It is horrible because I will put something away and forget where I put it. I spend hours searching for something. It wouldn't be so bad except that not only do I have my stuff, but I also have stuff from my Mom from when she passed away. I am still dealing with that stuff. The workshop is a nightmare because I make teddy bears and have tons of small accessories like eyes, joints and threads that I use on them. To add to the problem I am planning to do some serious remodeling of the kitchen and workshop areas, which are right next to each other and attached by a common wall and entry way. I can't really get it too settled until I get the remodel done and I need to get ready for craft shows in November and December. Plus I have been adding other crafts that interest me (I am currently doing needle felting) so I keep adding to the problem. No wonder I feel like I am on the verge of alzhimers! (LOL) My BF has a good laugh at me at least once a week because I am searching for something...because I just can't remember where I put it! Now where did I put??????

As I have always maintained, I don't worry about forgetting things until the day comes that I go into the bathroom and forget WHY I went in there. The thing about not being able to remember everything is that we are inundated with information through various forms of media. We now have satellite television, cell phones, internet, magazines, newspapers and tons of other forms of communications. With all the data going into our minds it's no wonder that we forget so much. We have to store phone numbers, account pass words, addresses, names, computer information, right down to where we parked our car when we go into the store. We don't have the luxury of quiet evenings without a lot of things going on. Our brains don't get much rest! Speaking of where a person parked their car, my Mom and I were in Florida in '85 taking care of my aunt's estate. We went to the local shopping mall to do some Christmas shopping and had parked and were headed to the store. I was stopped by an older lady in a green top hat, (she obviously was frantic) wanting to know if I knew where she parked her car. I didn't know her or her car from Adam, and had to say no. I almost told her that she could wait inside the mall until all the stores closed and everyone left. If she did that the last car in the parking lot would most likely be hers. Now, I have to get back to looking for that thing that I can't remember what it was or where I put it...(LOL)

When I was still a student, I believe I am good in remembering things. For example I would know which side of the book the answer was printed on, if it is located in the top or in the bottom. When I have to trace a certain thing, I can easily recall what took place. Now a days, i don't think this is because i grow in age, it is simply because I don't use my memory that much, I think I am not that sharp as i was before. Because of this discussion, it made me realize that I have to memorize a certain quote per week again to sharpen my memory, I was practicing this before after graduation but it stopped, I wonder why.

Ya I understand ever since I left my college and started doing my own job,I don't find any time at all to sharpen my old rusted mind. All I do is work, work and work and it becomes so boring and I don't even need to used my brains so much anymore since I am so much into this work for a long period.Memorising quote is a sure way to improve our power of recall.I studied in One Christian school,we have to memorised whole lot of Bible chapters and verses,I must say it helps

I forget things, too, so I use my cell phone's function where it remembers important dates and reminds me, as well as the calendar reminders on my email program. I leave myself notes, too, and when it involves someone else, I will ask them to call me and remind me. I know that I forget so I don't like to miss anything.

hi! wheewww! cant describe how i feel to find someone who is just like me...lol` there was this time that i even forgotten that i have a class at 10:00am. and to think that i am just sitting at the canteen chatting with my friends. during our next meeting, my instructor ask me why i was absent during the previous meeting, i cant very well say that i wasnt around because i forgot that i have a class, so instead i just make up some excuse...haha` (bad) anyway, today, as much as possible i tell whoever i am with where i should go after or what to buy if i am to buy something, so that they would remind meafterwards. Because i have also tried to write it all down in my little pad. but i also forgot to look at it. or when i do, it is already to late.

I must admit that I have a very poor memory, my sister who is 10 years younger to me tells me about things that happened when we were in school, that is when i was in my 12th standard and she in 1st or 2nd standard, but i dont remember any of them even after she reminding me of some incidents that took place in school...but i dont tend to forget things like when i have an appointment or a committment made for i always store that in my mobile phone to not forget it, otherwise, i hope i might miss even those (at least, i remember to feed them in my mobile phone). other than that, if something really moved me emotionally either positively or negatively, i tend to never ever forget them, there was one incident where when was in my kindergarten, i was dozing off and fell down and had a cut above my eyebrows, the sight of which i still remember, my teacher carrying me running through the corridors, taking me to my house (which is just a little distance away) and then she crying and taking me to the hospital running, i dont remember anything else that happened on that day, my parents crying for me or the doctor stiching or anything else other than this, i remember the teacher's face even now, whereas if you ask me about even my college teacher's i dont remember their faces...

I am not having fun of taking all of the notes with my appointments because if I will have an appointment they will inform me before we will meet them for they knew me that I am the person who does not like to read at every time......about my appointments matter unless if it is in the office but if it is my personal appointments then for sure they will have to call me......
