Dare to use freeware?

Im a person who'd rather prefer to use comparatively featureless freeware than featurerich sharewares. Is there anyone having similar views. If so please recommend some freewares you use in the given categories. OS Image editor Audio editor Browser Security s/w(antivirus, firewall,antispyware etc) Performance tweak s/w and other top of the category freewares.

I use mostly freewares . but my OS is windows xp Image editor = gimp Audio editor = none firewall = windows firewall other = VLC media player etc . this is all about mine ,tell something about your usage

me too....wat to do ..ther is no competitor to the winxp in freeware and so me too using it...but my suggestion wud be like this browser- firefox (chrome not considered until its final is released ) audio editor- audio grabber image editor- irfanview office suite- openoffice.org (no other competitor) OS - preferrably ubuntu antivirus- avast, avg free etc...

I don't dare to use the the following category of software as freewares like OS and antivirus. In any other case I can consider freeware. I use some freewares like OrbitDownloader(video Downloader), cCleaner (PC optimization) , nVu (Web page editor).

Yes I use a lot of freeware.. But some software I buy, like firewalls and other security programs :D Have a nice day..
