Usually, everything goes wrong with my cooking. I usually end up wasting food, so I avoid cooking. 99% of the time, it's not worth it. ; ) I'll just stick to microwaving food so I don't burn my house down, or hurt myself ~ I'll only cook if I have recipes, and if I don't need to use anything that might blow up. ; )

When I was seven I was making dinner for me and my nine year old sister. As I went to get dinner out of the oven, I dropped the towel I was pulling it out with, on to the burner at the bottom of the oven (it was a long time ago, so it was an older kind of oven). It caught on fire and I started screaming. Luckily, my nine year old sister was more practical then. She picked up the burning towel, threw it into the sink, and turned the water on. I seriously hope I've come a long way from freaking out over something so small.

I have always had accidents whilst I've been cooking. The main ones that I remember are slicing nearly to the bone on my thumb whilst cutting carrots; I still have no sensation there as I severed nerve endings.
The other one was when I put a pan of sweetcorn on to cook, completely forgot about it (it didn't help that I'd left the gas on the highest setting!) and returned half an hour later to a pan of what looked like peppercorns. It stunk, and I had to throw the pan away, as there was no chance of getting the corn off!
