So The Day..

started fairly crappilly.. a phone call around 3am put me into work mode for the rest of the night, i slept like crap when i finally did sleep and woke up with a screamer of a headache after weird dreams about making friends with a racoon o.O. i really thought my sunday was shot. sifting through my emails as i always do over coffee.. mid-constant delete of freecycle that was jamming up my box.. i paused. Offer: Kittens it read.. so i opened it. we just recently suffered theloss of one of our newer critters. shed tore the hell out of our daughter and had been placed outside for a bit.. and shes run off. in the email was a plea for homes for a bunch of kittens.. one of which was a black male who "looked like a racoon" remembering my dream.. i hollared to mal, and made my own plea to go get this kitten so that our daughter might stop feeling badly over Miranda running away as if it was her fault she took a beating. poor girl.. he agreed. so we flew over to the next town to pick up the tiny cooncat. while there, one of the other kittens that were needing a home tugged at mal`s heart strings and he asked if we could take her too. the look on his face when he asked prevented me from even debating or discussing it.. he was in love with the furball. so weve now got wo new critters. a little boy now named Fischer, cause he looks more like a fisher cat than a raccon, altho he does have a white mask around his eyes.. and a little girl mal has named Norah after me*wipes a tear* our daughter is positively thrilled with her new playmates, our 7 year old cat, Rogue, isnt quite sure how he feels about em yet, but hes being nice and tolerating their attempts at intimidation bristling up to look like i have put them on the fluff cycle in the dryer. Fischer has become mine.. after having spent some time gnawing on my hair while perched on my shoulder, and Norah is a definite daddys girl. and who should come waltzing out of the bushes in the back yard less than 30 minutes after we unboxed the new babies? Miranda *thud* soo im now the den mother to 5 cats and a beagle LOL today has turned into a pretty darn shiny day hows yer sunday been? has it turned from one angle to another pleasantly, or negatively? how many critters have you got to spoil?

Wow Tessa, So pleased to hear that your day turned around and now you are the mad cat woman LOL. The most I ever had at one time was four but I still have two Wilfred and Sybil, I have a new puppy Ziggy and two rabbits, Nike and Sweetheart plus five fish (not named except the Borneos who are Bib & Bob). Miranda obviously didn't want to mis out on all the new activity bless, lets hope she stops her he antics with her claws too now. Can't think of any turn around days but I am sure there have been many. Still on first cuppa, don't work properly until the second LOL. Enjoy Norah and Fischer. Huggles. Ellie :D

workin on my first cup here too we used to have fish. the sprite raised a batch of goldfish for 5 years and they got HUGE.. but as soon as they reached the point we might get babies.. a plague of ick infested the tank. try as we might.. we lost them all. she was heartbroken might try them again in the future.. but for now, the crites and the rest of the critters fill the house quite nicely

Actually my Sunday started okay, but there has been this nagging in the back of my mind that something wasn't right between me and my s/o. And of course, I was letting my mind run wild, like 'what did I do or not do', 'what is his problem?', and other thoughts. Then Sunday evening, after he took his daughter home, he opened up with what had been bothering him, which was one of my thoughts, had nothing at all to do with me! lol Just some things at his job, and his impending early retirement in January. His position at work has been a big part of his identity for 25 years......so, it is crossing his mind how he is going to deal with that. The highlight of our weekend (I started a discussion about it a few minutes ago lol) is our new additions to the family......4 baby (orphaned) cottontail bunnies. So now it's 4 bunnies and a dog! lol

Thank you, they seem to be doing well. And he already has a job offer for when he retires, it's just the adjustment from his career choice for 25 years, no longer being part of his identity. I think once he gets started in the new job, he'll do fine.

Pickles the Terrible - He uses his horns as lethal weapons.
Pickles came next and he's getting very pushy...he uses his horns to cause harm and destruction in a delightfully playful way(??)

Five cats? Wow that is a lot of cats! They sound really sweet though and I love the names of them. Sunday so far has been pretty busy, I did my online shopping order again, it still took me nearly two hours but I managed to get the whole weeks shopping at a rather grand price of £45.00 which is $79.62. My weekly budget is £80.00 ($141.54)so that is a really great saving!! Then I had to do homework with the boys which did not go down too well, and I had to gently persuade them that it was a good idea! Now, I am just having five and then I am off to put my washing away.

Hey tess. That sounds like it turned out really great. You sound like you all had a really fun time together with your new found babies! I think that is so nice that you have new kittys! They sound adorable. I wish I could have a few more. But if I bring home any more my 2 and bf will all pack up and go. I can't even look at another kitty because I know I will have to take it home with me. Your Sunday sounded like it really was a wonderful day with your brood after all, especially the new editions and the one that came back! I hope they all sleep through the night so that Mommy can get a good nights rest! Night tess!

sleep? HA! *giggles* the crites (which is what am calling them as a pair now lol) have bonded according to hopes.. fischer with me and norah with mal.. and both found their prospective places on our bed by our sides.. under our armpits.. up our butts and across our necks.. that is, when they werent practicing jumping on and off of our bed, which is one of them platform jobs so its really high off the floor.. and was cause for great amusements at their landing techniques LOL i was woke up about 7 times throughout the night with fischer either flopping a paw over my nose.. batting at the raven i wear round my neck.. gnawing on my hair.. and other various attacks upon my person, and not one single claw!! sweet crites.. but i dont expect to get much sleep for a while

oh how I envy all you who can have cats,we live in an apartment complex that does not allow any pets at all. hardly allows us tenants as we are a gated community with car gate and pedistrian gate too. so if you misplace your gate key you may have trouble getting in lol lol lol.
