I don't believe I have ever spent more than five dollars in my life on a cup of coffee, but I know there are a lot of avid drinkers out there. How much would you be WILLING to spend on a decent cup??

Once, many years ago, I took my father to the doctor, and he wanted to stop for brunch afterwar. I wasn't hungry, but they said I couldn't sit with him if I didn't order something. I asked for a cup of coffee, and they charged $15.00! My father passed away in 1986, and this was at least ten years before that, so it was more outrageous than it would be now. I don't think even the finest restaurants charged more than a quarter for coffee back then. Needless to say, we never went back there, and we told everyone we knew about it so they wouldn't go there, either.

Wow that is crazy! I think you win though. I don't like when people dont allow you to sit somewhere unless you are a customer. I suppose I understand it in some casses, but if one person has ordered something, their guest or friend or whoever should be able to sit as well. It doesnt make sense, they wouldnt put two strangers at the same table so its not like you'd be taking up space right? unless maybe you were sitting at a bar???

If I am wanting my coffee to go, I will usually make my own at home and put it in a travel mug with a lid. Though have been known to get coffee from Starbucks, but only occasionally, since I think it's a bit expensive to pay $3 or $4 for something I can make at home cheaper.

I agree, a cup of coffee should never cost so much, but I know people who have spent crazy amounts before...

when my folks went to scandiavia in the mid-1970's, the coffee there was very expensive my folks didn't drink any except in the morning at breakfast but part of the hotel's breakfast deal. They were astonished at the cost of coffee there - THEN

I think for me 3 dollars worth is the most expensive coffee that I bought. I don't often buy coffee outside, sometimes I just make my own coffee at home to save up a bit. Coffee here is pretty expensive, but I do treat myself for an expensive coffee once in a while :)

i dont know how much is it because most of the time my husband was the only person that treated me to have a cup of coffee and to talk about happy things and sometimes about our family.

I once spent $6.75 on a cup of coffee at starbucks in Las Vegas. That was the most i've ever spent on a cup that's for sure. I was draggin A$$ really bad after a night of gambling and drinking at Mandalay Bay and needed 3 extra shots of espresso for a really good pick up. I probably won't ever spend that much on a cup of coffee again but boy did it get my day goin the right way. LOL.

I think the most I've spent on a cup of coffee was around four dollars. It was a pretty decent cup of coffee with a shot of espresso. It got me hyper and kept me awake for a while. I don't think anyone should spend over four dollars for a decent cup of coffee.
