I was so busy with everything thats going on. Children are back in school. So that means lots of homework, school pictures, open house, candy sales and all the jazz. Not to mention all the other things that happen aound her everyday. When I just sat down at the computer after putting the kids to bed. Which I call "mommy time" then started writeing things in my calendar. And there it was September 22 first day of fall!! I knew it was comeing because my birthday is just around the corner adn all the halloween things are starting to show up in the store. But it still seemed to have sneaked up on me. Did you realize the leaves are all changing? I did so I dont know why I was so surprised. Does anyone else feel this way?

No leaves changing here however we welcome the cooler weather after the blistering Florida summers! I am surprised too. This year has really flown by and with all the economic problems I thought it would have dragged on forever! Happy Fall!

I knew today was the first day of Fall because today is my Birthday. It didn't sneak up on me, especially not this year regardless of how busy I've been. I love Fall too so I get really excited when it gets rather close to fall.

Ooh, you hasve to do candy sales? Ugh, those suck. We, when I was in school (first year of college now) we had to sell these chocolate bars called WFC (World's Finest Chocolate) - at $2.00/bar! No kid is going to spend $2 when they can get M&M's for 50cents! Anyway, back to topic: Yeah, these past few mornings when I go outside...it just feels like October or November already! We live in Houston, TX and the humidity is a bi-ch but these past few mornings its been around 60 degrees with no humidity! Leaves are changing, halloween stores are opening in a bunch of warehouses, all the open house nights (I used to love those), etc. I actually wore a long-sleeve shirt, by choice, the other day!

We just moved to a new school district last may. So I have no idea what kind the are saleing yet this yeah. But theyre other school did sara's candys. And lost of time they did have a few cheap pieces you could order. They have down he hole sale an actly box of candy bars more then once. Which I might add was bad enough because it was a record hot day when they passed them out and about half of everyones boxes had melted by the time they got home... Humidity is one thing I really could almost care less for. Gotta love the hallween stores!! Did think it would be in the 60s done there at this time of year though. Thanks a bunch for the comment :)

I heard it on the radio while I was cleaning today. I can always tell here because the "love bugs" are everywhere, and the temperature is finally cooling off a bit so that we can open the windows but have not seen a tree change yet. Happy early birthday!

Here in the Philippines, we don't really have 4 seasons. We're too close to the equator to have seasons. Back when I was living in the US, I could remember the first day of Fall. I could also remember the way the leaves would change colors. I kinda miss raking the leaves and putting them in a pile then jumping into it and then raking them again.

No leaves changing but we do have cooler temperatures this week. Instead of the 90's we are topping out in the mid 80's during the day and dipping into the 60's at night. It's really nice!

Hi hunandi, It is my first year in USA so I am just loving each day of my experience and I was told by hubby that it was first day of the fall and I also love it! ANyway, I can see summer is over because the weather is no longer friendly in my garden...They started to die and for my tomatoes and peppers, I know I will still wait 2 weeks before I can harvest them all!

Actually, I did know today was the first day of fall. I homeschool my kids so we had a special fall lesson today. However, it feels like the middle of summer here.It has been hot and humid here today. The stores here have fall and Halloween items out and I am starting to see Christmas. It is way too early for that, but it is out. I have noticed several neighbors have Halloween decorations up and I was thinking that it is early for that too. I have also noticed when we are riding four wheelers that the leaves are changing and so I know that it won't be long until it is cold here. The evenings have been cool here too-mid 50's.

Think more parents should home school. Its seems that they are not learning what they should in school. My children had no idea it was the first day of fall it was never brought up in school. So we talked about it at home. What else can you do to fill in the blanks that the schools leave other then ask your kids questions and teach them what they are missing your self. Thanks for the comment. Happy Fall

I saw it somewhere then I saw it again here at myLot because of your post..i never thought that it really has a specific beginning. Before, I thought it just starts when the leaves turn red and fall to the ground..hahaha..kidding aside. I just thought it was some unfixed date like the Lenten season..or was it not?? Oh well i am not much aware because here in the Philippines all that matters is the wet and dry season..lols. but hey, yesterday? it was soo windy here even in the city.

I remember learning in school that not many places on the earth actly have four full seasons. Pa in Usa is one of the places that do. But it was really windy here the other day if that counts. Thanks fo tthe comment:)

Yep, the calendar says "First day of Autumn." But I also noticed the leaves starting to change. And yesterday I went apple picking, here it means Fall. And the pumpkins are making their appearance. Enjoy, Fall is finally here.

I didn't know that until I read your discussion. I haven't really felt like it's the first day of fall today. Though it gets really dark outside here (in Sweden) after 6-7 PM. But this evening it has been pretty sunny. You know the sunset cozy kind of sunniness. :)

I personally was shocked but I hate summer and live for fall so I was soooo happy. This weather in general makes me extremely happy i love to take my son outside but hate when its hot an muggy. I sat outside for a little while this morning looking at the leaves and wondering when this was going to end. since our weather has been so crazy lately i guess im just dreading a sudden snap back to the heat.

We don't have fall here in the Caribbean but today is the day before a holiday in Trinidad and right now there is the most horrific traffic jam in the streets outside my office. My lift home just called to say not before 7.00 pm will he pick me up because we will be stuck in a line forever. It happens with rain, holidays, broken down cars in the road and God knows what else !

Traffic jams are never fun. I agree thats they happen with everything. The first snow flake and people freak out. Like they haven't lived with it their hole lives here. I guess its always like summer there? My mom brought me home dolls from there last year. Maybe one day I'll make it there my self. Thanks for the comment.

Yes falls is really starting. Here in Spokane, we feel the falls last Saturday. The temperature downsto 30 degrees aleady. I can say I like it and I do not. I like it because it's cold and it is nice to sleep at night. I don't like it because it is too much cold for someone who is not use this very cold weater like me. Now that falls startig, I am more worried of winter. I knew it is more colder than falls.

Wow only 30 degrees! Where is Spokane so I dont ever move there. Thats is way to cold for me. I mean 30 is okay for winter but not for Sept. I too would be worried about winter. Have a nice chilly fall lol :)
