If so, did you get anywhere near its worth? We have a 55 gallon and a 28 gallon tank. We love the 28 gallon tank but have had the 55 gallon for about 3 years and after moving it 4 times our "love" for the tank is disappearing. In our other apartments the 28 gallon was in the bedroom and the 55 gallon was in the living room, so you could see and enjoy it. Now both tanks are in our dining room area. You can still enjoy the 28 gallon but the 55 gallon is hidden by our table. So we are thinking about selling off all the fish and hopefully selling the tank. It is a 55 gallon, in perfect condition on a natural wood (unfinished) base that we bought in 2005 for about $300 (we got an awesome deal because Petco was having a huge sale). Of course, rocks, pumps, decorations, etc would be included. I know we aren't going to get the tanks worth (all the stuff together is easily $500). How much do most folks get for a tank? Is it even worth our effort to sell off the fish and dismantle the tank?

We used to won fish tanks but not anymore. We tried to sell our other ones and no one wanted to buy them for what we wanted out of them. We ended up just giving it away just to get rid of it. I am not sure why people do not want to buy them, especially when there is nothing wrong with it and looks brand new.

I would be happy if we even got $200 for it LOL By the time we sell all the angel fish we may come close to breaking even. I guess some tanks are so cheap people would rather just go to the store to buy new.

I have never personally sold one but I do know that there are alot for sale and it seems like people here will buy them quickly. I dont know why you are having trouble selling yours that is weird to me.

Unfortunately you will never get your tanks worth back. I bought my 55 gallon tank and all accesories two years ago for only $20.00. You can usually get a good amount for the fish though if you have exotic fish. Otherwise you will only get what you spent.
