I see a lot of people complaining about Windows Vista and the system requirements needed for Vista. Now Lets look in the Past and the trend the past has. Windows 98 could be run on the 486sx computer with 8 meg of ram at a Minimum Windows2k you needed a p2 at the minimum and at least 64 meg or ram, but 128 meg worked better XP you need a P3 or better processor and 64 meg of Ram or better. Vista you need a p4 and at the minimum 1 gig of Ram So you all see what I mean so why do some or a lot complain about Vista needing so much more but in the past all the operating systems needed more in system requirements than the prior. and the trend is that each new OS is going to need more in system requirements than the past OS.

Hi mirage108. I can tell you there are some annoying things about Windows Vista. I have got Vista and it is soooo much more work to get to something compared to a Window X.P. program. I would go back to a Windows X.P. Computer System as fast as I could walk back to another computer. I may be getting used to it but I would not thank you to be working and having to use one thank you. Catch ya later pretty_babe

Its really bad for windows vista to demand huge hardware requirement. Its also ban over windows xp in some performance issues. I noticed a significant file copy delay in windows vista that create troubles when I connect external hard disk drives to my computer. Its user interface also looks too much clumsy to me.

WHY all the other operating systems that Microsoft came out with did it why not vista. Win2k needed more than 98, XP needed more than Win2k, and Vista, needs more thank XP so what is the difference if all the other Operating System can require more in system requirements why not Vista.

It is usual for windows vista to demand for more RAM. But the unusual thing is the amount of difference. Win98 to Xp memory req. difference was only between 32-64 mb. And winxp to vista this diffrence about 348 mb (512-128).

To be able to run XP smooth, you need at least 128-256 megs ram.. And yes Vista is too heavy for this generation.. It's kernel is too big.. Maybe in a decade it will be able to run smooth on a computer.. Have a nice day..

hmm I could not get my first xp system to run on 128 meg of ram I did get it to run sluggishly on 256 and smoothly on 512meg Seems that most of the operating systems I mentioned when they came out doubled the minimum requirements needed to run in the form of memory

hello ok, all what you said is good and i agree with you, but what you say about the Memory Cash... All the past windows OS's don't take the Cash but Vista Do!! and it's make the computer so slow even with 4Go RAM and double Core Duo .... Vista is For Newbies and Beginners.
