the price of gasoline today are shooting up almost everyday and even they roll back couple of cents, it does not have a positive effect on the price itself. today, people needs to have a practical lifestyle. i know people that they take the public transportation going to work and use their auto mobile when going out on weekends. its more practical to take public transportation on weekdays because its traffic and what a way to waste gasolin right? its just a hassle when its raining to use the public transportation and when its rush hour. how do you go to one place to another? do you ride public transportation?

I take public transportation every time I go somewhere as I don't drive. I usually take either the public buses or the paratransit service which is a bus service for disabled people. I enjoy public transit more than riding in a car because you get to meet new people, and who knows, "the one" might just be riding your bus. At this point, in that regard, I'm about ready to try anything. I feel that public transit is also greener than driving solo. It would be more convenient for me to have a car as I'm disabled but I don't have the finances right now.

I don't really use public transportation except for taxi's once in a while. I live in a pretty small place in Alaska and we don't have buses or subways or trollies. Here you walk, hitch a ride, or get a taxi or you just dont go anywhere.

I usually take the public transportation. When going to the office I would take the FX or shuttle to bring me infront of my office building, and when I go home I would take the MRT and jeepney because taking them is a lot faster than taking a bus.

Well, my office is quite far from my place. I used to work near my house before and yeah, I would just walk.

No, I don't take public transportation. Where I used to live there really was no public transportation. If there is any here, I don't know of it at all. I drive everywhere I need to go. I know gas is really high. I try to put as little as I can in my car, and the gas hand is like yeah right. But I know when I'm at the pump I'm thinking of all the things that I could be spending my money on instead of these gas prices. Most of all my extra money I have left over goes towards gas. I don't take as many longer drives as I used to. If I'm going out, I try to do everything at once.

I have to use public transportation often, because i am a student in a foreign country, so anyway i have to use the public transportation. I am not use to it, because the country where i reside, fuel is very very cheap. So there is not such public transportation service and getting and running a vehicle is very easy and cheap. But this is really very irritating, I really dont like it, because sometimes I have to stand up in the bus or train for hours, and sometimes there are soo many people in the bus that I suffocate.

at all times, i ride on the public transportation, cause i have no car or even a bicycle. as i observe, many of us now has prefer to ride in the public transportation than to use their mobiles daily, you are right, there saving a gasoline, it is really true that gasoline are so very expensive, thats why , they only used their car twice or thrice a week.

Hi! Here in the States, especially in many states (like mine, in Pennsylvania), it is more advisable to take public transportation because it is hard to find a parking space (especially in the city) and parking fees are expensive. Now that the gas prices are up, more people have chosen to take public transportation. I like taking the train because there's less hassle and it's very comfortable. The train system here is very reliable and not complicated. In my country, there's no schedule for trains and buses, so it's very difficult to take public transportation. Also, people tend to be standing and there's not much space. With that comes pickpocketing. The climate is hot, and there's too much heavy traffic. Thus, the hassle and the stress. But I guess because of the gas price hike, my countrymen still chose to go with public transportation because of the need. I love my country but there's really a lot to be improved on in the area of public transportation.

yeah i know considering the consequences and danger of taking the public transportation. here in my country, parking is also a problem, you need to be very early to find a good spot and its not a bit expensive but when you add them up, its too much. its like $1 or a bit less for 4 hours and exceeding hours plus .45 cents while work lasts for 9 hours. it can be ery painful for the pocket.

I used to until I got myself my own motorcycle. The cost of gasoline might be too expensive but with a vehicle with only two wheels, it's not that much.

Honestly in my opinion taking public transportation is much cheaper than bringing your own car. For me to avoid traffic and rush hour I just leave early. I agree it's really a hassle when it rains a lot.

I take public transporation when I'm going to work, mall, or any places that I will go alone. It's cheaper but some of the drivers doesn't give back my change!!! LOL... But when my family went out, we used our car because it is much practical especially when we are going to market and buy lots of things. But it's really a hassle to me commuting when it's raining. I wear a complete white uniform and there are rude drivers who passes on road that dirty water can spill on you. Hehehe...

hahaha yeah i know there are a lot of things or hassles to consider when you commute; the smoke, rain, people, snatchers, rush hour, etc but there are thousands of people do that everyday :)

I have to rely on public transportation because I don't own a car, neither do I own a licence. I will usually travel via public transportation, or (rarely) my friend will drive me around.

probably public transport is better then your own vehicle as the world's pollution is getting from bad to worse already. With having more transport out there, the possibility of having a traffic jam is higher. Gasoline are getting more and more expensive day by day. private transport is convenient but the cost are just too high.

Yes, I do. Not that Trinidad has any great public transport, it doesn't. All we have is a small, under-developed bus service and private road taxis. But they are convenient and do cost a lot less than using your own car. You also have to know how to avoid the horrific traffic jams and where to get the best taxis or buses but that's when you come to Trinidad, not before.

Yes I do take public transportation every morning to go to work. It would be such a waste of money if I will bring our car. That would cost me too much and it is not worth it. We have to be very practical these days. Life is so hard so every way we could save we have to do.

I use the bus and I walk whenever I can. I have a few reasons why I do not drive so that works for me.

We live quite a distance away from the office, plus we carry our laptop, so we take the car every day since it's not that safe to take public transport. We got ourselves a place to rent that's nearer to the office, but then it aggravated my daughter's skin problem so now we're back to driving back and forth between office and home. But when I'm at the office and I need to go out on simple errands, I either take public transportation or I walk. I've been thinking about buying a bike so I could use that instead.

I do use the public transport, where we live the timetables are very good, there are ample buses and trains to catch ,and they run frequently too.The fares are not too bad either, and you can get a day ticket, one that will keep you on and off of the buses all around the area for the whole day.But I do admit that if the weather is poor, say its bucketing down with rain, then the waiting for the bus could be quite miserable.

I had a car before but my brother was usually the one using it 'cause I just could'nt afford the overall expenses. It's just crazy how gas can literally eat up half of you salary, and that doesnt even stop there you need to take it to regular check up. Having a car is probably just like having a baby. You endlessly have to feed it and take care of it. That's why I prefer commuting. Besides, when you get the hang of it you sort of enjoy it. For like 15mins or more you just sit there in the train and wait to get to your destination. You don't even have to worry if you missed a red light or if your car is gonna hit someone. You just sit there, enjoy the scenery, save a big chunk of money and relax. Realistically though, yes taking public transpo has its downsides just like when you get caught by heavy rain with or without an umbrella, for me that's really a hassle. But when everything like gasoline skyrocketing in prices, what choice do we still have? Cheers! ^_^
