Do you ever forget you are using your TIVO or DVR?

Do you ever sit and watch a movie or show on DVR and then when the commercial comes you forget it's DVR so you sit and watch the commercials? I tend to do this when it's late at night and I'm getting sleepy. I lose track of the fact that I can fast forward through commercials! It's funny b/c at this time I'm usually just trying to finish the show, but since I forget it's on DVR it ends up taking longer.
Then I usually suddenly remember "oh yeah, I can Fast Forward" so I end up remembering for the rest of the show, but there have been times where I forgot the whole time and sat through all the commercials.
I hate commercials, but sometimes I just forget when I'm watching DVR. How about you?

so funny. i just did that last night. i was impatiently watching Project Runway i had recorded. it was getting late, and i forgot i was watching a dvr'd episode. i watched two sets of commercials before i figured it out!

HAHA, it always seems to happen when it's getting late and we are tired, doesn't it? I actually just realized I was a half hour behind on my tv. I paused it for about 30 mins awhile back while I was on the phone. THen I watched the shows as normal, and suddenly just remembered that I'm a whole Show behind!! I hit Live to go to the show that's on at 7:30 b/c I don't really care about the 7:00, but still funny

Even with my DVR, a lot of times I make a point to let the commercials run and I get up and get something done. It's a bit of motivation saying "ok I got about 3 minutes, what can I get done"
However with DVR I don't have to worry about missing something b/c I can rewind the show. You should look into it. Comcast, Brighthouse, they all offer it now. It's not that much more than regular cable and it is worth it!

lol... yes, i do this very often! haha. what i do even more is when my hubby and i are watching actual television (not recorded) and the commercials come on, i pick up the remote and try fast-forwarding them. then i get mad and wonder why the remote is not working, until my husband gives me this look and tells me that we are not watching it on dvr. lol then i just feel like a big jerk! :)

haha! My husband often says "fast forward" at the commercials when he knows it is not DVR. We love DVR but obviously dont DVR everything, so we joke that we wish we could fast forward!
One trick I learned is this, I pause a show right before it starts for like 10 minutes, and get something done. Then when I press play, I'm able to watch and fast forward through all the commercials. This way I don't necessarily have to record it but I do get to skip commercials :)
