Help with guitar

I want to buy an electrical guitar but I don't know what should I look for. I'm playing acoustic guitar for one year now and I think it's going just fine. I play just for my soul and practice when I feel like it. I don't put too much pressure on it - it's my hobby. So I want to buy an ok guitar, not professional one but don't know which. I was thinking of Ibanez GRX Series. What do you think about it? Feel free to help me, post your opinion! Thnx

I think its a pretty good choice, though I would have suggested a cheaper Squier package that includes an amp. I think starter packs are a good deal, and it doesn't matter if its cheap, as long as you feel comfortable playing it and it gives off a great sound for you. That way you don't have to spend much since you have no intention of going pro. You mentioned that you play for your soul.... may i ask what kind of acoustic guitar do you have?

Right now I am playing an Ibanez electric! That are not as expensive, and they play good enough for me to play professionally! Right now I am playing three times a week, and I don't have any trouble with it!

Ibanez is a good name. I own a Jackson v myself, love it. But you cant beat a Washburn neck, they melt in to your hand. If I wasn't so attatched to my Jackson, I'd get one, but I think I'd have to learn all over again. I'm not a big fan of Fender, the neck is too chunky and the sound is too tinny.

I think it depends on your budget, there are many starter kit that are affordable. Like the Squire starter kit, its really a mid level guitar with an amplifier to go along with. Its also ok to buy Ibanez brands if thats what you like. But for me, I think you should get the guitar that would fit your style of playing. Or to simplify, you should get the guitar you are very comfortable playing. So its best that you tried it first before you buy it. Hope this helps

Kona Electric Starter Guitar Kit may be a good place to start. It comes with everything you may need. If not check places like craigslist or ebay. They may have the one you want. And at a price that could save you some money. I've seen some for as low as $24.
