I always thought the rating MA was worse than R.. Kind of like NC-17.. but i have watched several movies on cable (not edited) that have been MA that were like PG.. am i wrong? you dont see MA much as is so i figured that was more proof that it was worse since NC-17 is not really used much because the market for it isnt good and places black ball it.. so help me out here.. there is G...PG...PG-13... then what? MA? R? NC-17?

This is the first time I heard of the MA rating. There is a list of definitions for the various ratings here. http://www.mpaa.org/FlmRat_Ratings.asp You can check it out. They are used internationally. But I have not been able to find the MA rating. What does MA stand for?

Is there a age group for MA? Hmm... you do make a valid point there. How do they define MA from R? I am sure there are some criteria to it. Will have to search around some more to see what the difference is.

it stands for mature audiences which made me believe even more than it was worse than r..

MA is used only for TV and it meant to acknowledge "Mature Content" LOL I can't say that I notice it used that often. I know Nip?tuck does fall under MA. MA is the equivalent to an R movie rating and it is the worst "normal" rating a TV show can get. MA TV is meant for people over the age of 17.

Kids aren't supposed to. Their parents are.

it depends I think I which country you are in, in canada R usually meant an adult movie and there was no ma classification, but in the usa r seems to be restricted meaning 17 accompanied by an adult.

I've never seen MA. It may be just a television thing.

i could have sworn i have seen it as a rating on dvds and etc.. its rarely used so i cant think of anything that had it on it.. but i do see it on tv more that is for sure.. i just figured the tv ma and the movie ma is different (for some reason.. makes no sense now that i am thinking about it)
