Anyone planning to move away? Know anyone who has considered this?

My mother has a friend who used to live in Europe. She has been back in the US for some time now. She is truly frantic over the state of this country. And is currently making plans to move. To Hungary!! I was surprised. She also told my mother that in Finland healthcare is free. Would you consider leaving the USA?

I actually did a trial run in September for a job in the Philippines. It is totally different in that country. The area is very poor, and it definitely opened my eyes to the words "Third World Country". I know a lot more about what that means now. However, after about a week, I was ready to come back home. It was a totally unique experience, and I wouldn't take it back for the world. But, it just wasn't for me. That is why I only stuck around for 18 days. By the way, I think the rest of the world's economy basically runs on the economy of the U.S. so I will just stay right here in the good 'ole U.S.A.!

Not really. The thing is that no matter where you move to, there's always some kind of problems. There's not a perfect place in the world, if there was...everyone would already be living there. As for moving a lot, Hubby and I moved in this apartment 3 years ago and I really have no plans to move again for a long, long time. ~~I AM WHO I AM~~ **STANDING STRONG IN MY BELIEFS**

Wow are you serious? Health care is free in Finland? I am surprised alot more people haven't moved there then. It is a interesting aspect to think about with the States in the shape they are in. I think that we are sliding uncontrollably into recession. It will take a lot to get us out. I would love free medical help and wold find that it it might be well worth the move if someone was ill enough and had no means of supporting health care.

I moved lots of times not far far away but I am thinking about it now. If my friends move I might move to and they are thinking about moving far away. I don't want to move and not know anybody but would like to go someplace different casue I need to find a job.

I have definitely considered moving out of the U.S. also because of the economy here. We have not had healthcare for years either because we just cannot afford it.

I would consider moving anywhere which was best for the family. However, culture shock is probably something that would cause distress. Losing all your family friends, not something to take lightly.

Free healthcare isn't always better. Canada has a free health care plan, but it takes forever to get a life saving surgery because they have a shortage of doctors. All their doctors are coming here because they get paid better. Many Canadians are even coming to the States to get their surgeries because of the ridiculous wait time in Canada. Trust me, I have a Canadian friend who is not at all thrilled with the state of her health care system.
