Winter; love it or hate it?

I suppose depending on where you live it's relative to how you feel about winter. I've lived in Northeastern Alberta (REALLY REALLY COLD), Southeastern Saskatchewan (REALLY COLD), Southwestern Ontario (COLD to MILD not a lot of snow), and in Nova Scotia Canada (MILD...but not tropical)...all have vastly different winter experiences. I can tell you this, if I had my way the only day we would ever have snow is Christmas day. Since I can't control the weather, I must grit my teeth and bear it...and hope for an early Spring...maybe we could just skip Spring and have Summer again.

I am a summer girl, I was born in the summer, always lived in areas that stay warm 98% of the year. Now here I am living on the East Coast in the USA and I'm not looking forward to it at all. We had temps in the 20s over the weekend and I stayed in the whole time. When the snow starts, I don't know what I'm going to do. I'm sure it's going to be beautiful since I've never really seen any, but I want it here and then gone and warm weather to pop right back up.

I love it and I hate it. I love looking out my window after a fresh snow fall and see the snow sparkling in the sun like diamonds. I hate it cause it is so cold.

It's ok until January, then I hate it and want it to be spring.

I can't stand winter! I live in Utah and the past few years it's been pretty bad (usually around January or February though). Especially with the small car I have, it's tought to get over snow piles and things. I really should move.

Now that I've moved and I'm not buried in 3 feet of snow for 5 months out of the year, I enjoy winter a lot more. If I want to see snow, I just look off into the mountains. And the only time I have to get up close and personal with it is when I go skiing, which I love. And the temperature where I live now is usually in the upper 40's or low 50's for the winter, so it's great. Compared to the 0-25 range I grew up in, it's extremely nice.

Wow, it was very interesting to read your post, because it highlights the fact that it's all a matter of perspective. I have always lived in the Mid-Atlantic area of the U.S., and I would consider a winter in Nova Scotia REALLY REALLY COLD.:) On the other hand, I suppose someone who lives in Key West would think my winters are REALLY REALLY COLD. But to answer your question, I am not a huge fan of winter, but I'm glad that we do have 4 seasons where I live. If it was perfect summer weather all year long, I probably wouldn't appreciate it as much.

When it's summer, I love the winter. When it's winter, I love summer. So right now I'm neutral, it's cold enough for me, but in a couple of months, I'll be miserable and ready for 98 degree weather again.
