Have you sold a high end computer on ebay?

I have sold older PCs on ebay with out any problem, but I am wondering how the new PCs sell. I have a custom PC that is about 1 yr old and was built pretty close to top of the line at the time. I paid $1200 for it and I just repriced the pieces and it hasn't dropped in value. I know I won't get $1200 for it, but something close would be nice. Why am I selling? Well after another hurricane evacuation and having to lug my husbands PC around (we had to leave mine behind), I started thinking about how great it would be to have a decent laptop. I am not talking Alienware or anything, but something that does what I need it to do (maybe I am talking Alienware LOL) and doesn't weight 30lbs or take up half a car trunk!

Hey there sedel I've only ever once sold a fairly high end pc on ebay, it was a dell pc and we only had it for a week then i decided i could do a better job myself ( and did ) so i stuck it up on ebay and it sold for £10 less than what we paid for it so i was pretty happy HOWEVER this was some 5 years ago now and considering the current ebay climate i would try all other selling avenues first, local paper, craigs list etc before putting it on ebay, if you sell your pc on ebay and someone bids high for it then doesn't pay your left having to reclaim your final value fee's to which effect if the buyer gets their strike reversed you will loose your final value fee's back to ebay which could end up costing you greatly, so have a scout around first and see what other ways you could sell your computer, if you have no other avenue to consider than of course there is only ebay left to try but do make sure you cover yourself against fraud, by this i mean buyer claiming the parcel never arrived etc etc, there are plenty of ways to use paypal to defraud people of their money and their goods so just be careful you don't fall foul of the unfair system paypal pose. Good luck in your selling.

I just can't think of any other place to sell the darn thing. If I could I wouldn't use ebay. I know I could build a better laptop myself, - that is what I will probably do - even though buying one would save a few hundred dollars. I would be happy to break even. LOL

I've sold a laptop that had minor problems with it but I haven't sold a NEW one I thing you'll probably do good with that especially now for the time of the year (Holiday Time)but I think if you can get you hands on a laptop you'll probably do well also with that. Its nothing wrong with trying.
