well,no girl will like if i go and squeeze her cheek and kiss her, so why do we think that a child will like it??? of course i know it feels good to kiss a child, but what about his own freedom?? i dont think any child like getting kissed by a stranger, atleast i didnt like when i was a child and some of my uncles with scratchy beards used to kiss me!! LOL,but loved when aunts kissed haha,(jokin). so yes, next time ask for permission before kissing a child, because not everyone like it waiting for your views,---what about child's freedom??? thanks

Ah so we just let children get away with it. They can decide who and what does what to them. Now getting back to the subject. No child should be kissed or touched inappropriately and that is what I mean inappropriately. If it is the custom of the family and relatives to kiss each other on the cheeks, then it is perfectly all right to kiss the little guy on the cheek but not to maul him or squeeze him or rub your beard against him. And it is all right to kiss the hurt or the booboo, but that is best left for moms. So if the child runs out on the road and the cars are coming, unless he hollers "help!" you have to let him stay there because to grab him would interfere with his freedom, right? Got you there.

i do agree that a child can feel bad when kissed by a stranger. at my place i often see people even kissing their child or neighbors on lips. i get totally surprised and hyper when i see this. becoz it is a child that doesn't give u a permission that u can do whatever with a child. i think children have their own respect like us which shouldn't be hampered with.

It is not a crime.I think every one likes small kids and like to express their affection towards them.

It isn't a crime, but it certainly shows a lack of respect. Why is it okay for adults to impose themselves on children? Why do children have to put up with it, just because they're adults? Why do adults think that it's okay to deny children the same respect that they expect for themselves? Just because kids are cute, and you like them, that doesn't give you the right to violate their private space and force something on them that they may dislike.

also every boy likes beautiful ladies and like to express their liking towards them. then why dont they tolerate?? the question is about the freedom of child, not the intentions of kisser. thanks

I don't think so. Do you always kiss a child and ask whether I can kiss you or not, that's fun.

interesting point... to be very honest with you, i never think of this before... but i think it is because child is very cute and innocent... that's why people love to hug and kiss them... as for girls especially adults, they are already grown up and understand things... so of course you can't just hug any women especially strangers... i don't think we are allowed to kiss other people's child just like that as well if we don't know the parents and the child that well yet... otherwise, the parents might report us to the police as well... take care and have a nice day...

When I was little I always hated it when my mom would tell me to go hug a relative that I either didn't like or didn't know just because I was "supposed" to be polite and show respect to the person. I think that kids should be able to choose whether to hug someone or to show affection or have affection shown to them by the people they don't know or don't see very often.

it's interesting question. i never think about it before. when i was still a child, i hated being kissed and hugged by strangers, especially who have bad smell . but i didn't mind at all when cute friends of my elder sister did that LOL. i think even children have a right to refuse being kissed, and to decide who gets her kiss. but it will be funny in practical. i mean, should i ask, "hi emma (i mean emma watson, in the first harry potter movie LOL), would you mind to give me a kiss?" and we will look like a loser when she reply, "yes, i will mind."

This use to be common when I was younger and I think our parents made a mistake pounding into our heads that it was not ok for us to say no to adults affections. My mom would get after me for being rude but kids have a sense of people and if they do not feel comfortable then they should not be made to do something. This is a bad example to set. Children easily will start to worry about pleasing adults and this could lead to a very inappropriate situation for the child. Children must be seen and heard

I think that it is part of life to have to tolerate annoying situations. It's part of growing up to have to just be polite. I think a child has to be mature and take it politely even if they don't like it.

if maturity is in tolerance, then why wouldn't a cute girl tolerate if i kiss her without her permission???
