His he eating green veg. like peas green beans? Plus eating right is a good thing. It could be iron. But it also could be thiroid. My sister's friend went almost bald before they tested her for thiriod. I spelled it wrong. Some people get really skinny and some get fat. Like Opra she got fat. My sister got fat. My Mom got really skinny. But yes he needs to eat right. Your friend onlydia

Have you tried cheese on steamed veg. that is how my roommates son is. Only will eat if cheese is on. My son the other way around. No cheese.

Hair falling out could be anything. I would take him to a nutritionist, see if you can reduce the stress he is under and put him on a good multivitamin.

Depends on how poor the childs diet is. She did mention that he eats poorly. Something like a simple Vitamin C deficiency can cause hair loss.

From what I got from the sites about loss of hair in children, it's never because of the lack of vitamins: " Please keep in mind: hair loss in children is not due to vitamin deficiencies (unless extreme malnutrition is present), poor scalp circulation, headbands, hats, or cold weather. Diagnosis is typically as simple as an evaluation of the risk factors (which we are about to go over), a visual examination of the type of loss, and some tests your doctor can perform."

hey we are thinking it was from high salt intake, as we found out our water has salt in it, we got that fixed and his hair did grow back, and i had put him on a multi vitiman, so something out of those 2 worked.

did u take him to a dermatologist. i studies all that when i went to beauty school but gosh that's been 47 years ago & i don't remember like i should. there is a good many reason for it. hope it doesn't happen again. be sure & use a good shampoo & conditioner on his hair. not anything from wal-mart, talk to your hairdresser.

I have only seen hair loss in one child and that was one of my grandsons when he was about 2 or 3. My daughter took him to dermatologist and he gave him medicine for putting on the spot that really looked like ringworm. But it never helped the hair to grow back. A pediatrician gave her some medication to take by mouth and his hair grew back. He is now 14 1/2 and hasn't lost anymore hair. Here is a place to look at the reasons for loss of hair in children: http://www.webmd.com/skin-problems-and-treatments/hair-loss/hair-loss-causes-treatments
