I am thinking of going back to school and getting my nursing degree. I am 37 though so I guess it will be hard to do this, financially and more. I am scared to try it but I guess with my hubby wanting to change jobs again it might be for the best if I can have a good paying job to take care of my family, Has anyone else on here went back to school late in life?????

You are never to old to go back to school. I have at the age of 39 and even have people older than myself in my classes. If you live in the USA check to see about a Pell Grant you never have to pay it back. I am getting my high school diploma then take a 2 year college degree so I can work in a medical office. I am losing the usage of my legs and I still want to work and I had to quit taking care of the elderly so I thought this would be the perfect time for me. I get bored when I don't work.

First of all, GOOD FOR YOU! It is never to late to continue your education. I was offered the chance to take some child development classes at a local college and jumped on it! I had another baby and decided to stop attending before obtaining a degree, but I still feel I benefited from the classes I completed. If nursing is what you want to do, then I say go for it!

My mother went back to school when we were already going to school. There will be a number of challenges, but you'll get by with it.

I am taking my caregiving course right now and I am 26. I don't think there is an age limit with regards to education. I have a lot of classmates in the post grad two years ago and in my caregiving class now and the oldest is 52. I also have two kids and my youngest just turned one last month.

I don't think one's ever too old to go back to school.. I recall a number of mature students in my class at uni. I'd say go for your dream or achievement. It will even be more rewarding for you to make such an achievement alongside your family

I'm back in school now and I'm 35. It's a little strange being back in school after all these years, but I need to have a good paying job, so I'm sticking it out.

I don't think it's ever too late for you to go back into education. If you want something, then you should do it. Forget everything else, just think about yourself for once, and how good you would feel if it all worked out :) It will a challenge going back into education after so long out of it, but if you think you could cope with it then why not!
