I will admit that I suffer from depression and I went to the dr and she said well are you sleeping ok and I said no and she also said well you need to go to therapy and also she said that she would give me some medicine that I was on before and it did not help and also I looked at the box of medicine the other day and I have 5 different bottles in there so wouldn't you say they gave out to much at times?

Well for depression, medicines are not solution. Do Meditation, try breathing exercise, it will help you balance and handle depression.

Does your doctor know it doesn't work? and how long do you take the meds before you decide this? having 5 bottles around makes me think that you expect a quick fix and give up when you don't get it. Your doctor did explain to you (as mine did to me) that they could take up to 3 months before you might notice a change, didn't she?

I'm on 6 different medications for various things from acid reflux to severe depression and its crappy....On a normal day I take 6 to 7 pills..on a bad day I take 10 (a couple of my meds are only as needed like my clonazepam for example)...its not fun BUT I do need them all and have tried to go without but it was a bad scene... THAT SAID.....I DO think that far too many Doc's today are quick to hand out pills BUT they get a kick back from the pharmacudical companies so its no wonder....I have very little faith in the medical field these days...luckily I found a doc here that is FABULOUS! She doesnt rush me in and out, she takes the time to talk to me and REALLY see how things are goin etc etc answers any questions I have and so on..Sadly though docs like that are far and few between and would just rather get as many patients in and out the door as possible for htat fat cheque and pump them full of pills rather than finding out what the REAL issue is or seeing if there are any other options...

I think they do prescribe too much medicine at times too. They do not take the time to actually figure out what would work best for you instead of putting you on alot of medications.
