What kind of adobo do you like best?

I was inspired by that sinigang discussion, so I'll make one of my own...Of course I don't have to explain this because it's tag with the Philippines topic and it's quite famous here... What kind of adobo do you like best? For me the best would be the adobo that my lola cooks. It's pork and chicken adobo with bay leaves. I also love adobong kangkong. I have this other question...Have you ever tasted "adobo sa dilaw"(I don't know, adobo with ginger?) and "adobo sa gata"? I am very curious about adobo sa gata(adobo in coconut milk) and I want to taste it. Please share. Thanks and have a nice day.

Hi ishralene09! You don't need to explain further because adobo is popularly known with Filipinos. I love adobo that is cooked dried whether it's a pork or chicken, where the only sauce that was left is the cooking oil. One more thing about adobo, they seem to taste better when they last for a couple of days, where the sauce became thicker and fully absorb by the meat.

We both share our views on that! I mean the thing where you make the adobo last for days...yeah I really like the taste when it is fully absorbed by the meat. Yum. I like them dried or with sauce, but I hate it when it is done using chicken and the cook of the day(I don't usually cook the adobo) ends up using a lot of oil. All I can taste is the oil. Heehee. Thanks for responding! Have a good night!

Wow, adobong sitaw. What I like about it is that the sauce taste entirely different from a chicken or pork adobo. It's mild but delicious. Thanks for the response have a good night.

Oh, yeah that's kind of sad. Adobo sa gata, hmm.. I'm not really sure but I think it's an adobo with gata or something, but it can't be just gata or it will end up as ginataang manok...Thank you so much for sharing. Have a nice day.

I like adobo as well, one of my favorite dish. My favorite adobo are chicken and pork adobo and adobong kangkong. Adobo sa gata, I don't know if I already tasted it or not, is chicken is the main ingredient on that? cooked like adobo but instead of soy sauce, it was cooked in gata? if that is so, I already tasted it and it was quite delicious too. I like it particularly cooked by my mother. hmm, quite make me hungry right now, talking about these food.

Hmm...I think that is chicken curry, as it is cooked on gata as well. but oh well, maybe that is it. All I know is that it is still cooked like a normal adobo, but only with gata. So it's like a creamy version of adobo. Hmm, I'm not sure. Yeah, makes me hungry too. Have a nice day. And hey, thanks for sharing!

Oh, sorry, I haven't explained the adobo sa dilaw...When I saw the recipe, there was no soy sauce on the list! Just vinegar and the ginger. That's why I wonder how would that turn out to be. How does it taste like, putting ginger on adobo? I haven't tried that. Thanks for the response! Have a nice day!

Hi ishralene09! I'm happy to know that I inspired you with my sinigang discussion. Surely no one in the Philippines who wouldn't know about sinigang and adobo. My Favorite adobo is that pork and chicken adobo. The red sticky saucy sauce and a little spicy adobo is my best choice. Sometimes I also like kangkong and sitaw adobo. Happy eating friend...
