A good victory for the Red Devils, with a well-organized team. Bolton retreat and tried to score on counter-attack, which they almost managed before the break. Cristiano Ronaldo scores from a controversial penalty and Rooney brings the second goal with a beautiful shot. I'm pleased to see that Berbatov is starting to play better that he did against Chelsea, for example. It's good for him, and for the team - it means he's adapting. Let's bow to Paul Scores for his 400th match under the Red Devils colors! A legendary player of the club... may we see him at his best in as many games possibly!

I actually think the penalty was the turning point. Bolton were managing to keep it tight till then. It was farce of a penalty. I thought it was an excellent tackle and the next moment the ref points to the spot!! The only thing which I felt good was that it was not the only goal by which United won, Rooney scored the second which was a good one. Scholes has been one of those silent achievers for the Red Devils and is definitely a legend now. Cheers! Ram

That's exactly what I believe: when the penalty brought the goal, the entire Bolton strategy collapsed. They couldn't defend the score and try to hit on counter-attack, because... there was no score to defend anymore. They got a bit disturbed and it was all the Utd needed. I'm happy Rooney scored too, even if I'm a United fan, I don't feel quite good to know the only goal came after a questionable penalty.

Yes, Bolton's usual strategy against top opposition is to try and get set pieces and make most of it and defend for the rest of the game. Cheers! Ram

I did watch the match. The penalty was indeed the turning point. Man United transformed after the penalty. They were finally playing like the Red Devils! Paul Scholes entrance really made a great difference to the game. He is one of my favorite players. Among the Man United's 90's youth squad members (Butt, Scholes, P and G Neville, Beckham), I like Scholes the best.

My favorite from that team is Ryan Giggs, but PAul Scholes has his place in my heart too.

I like Ryan Giggs too. Actually, Ryan Giggs is not from the youth squad. That's why I didn't include him in the list.

Yeah, it was a great victory considering the start we've had this season. Not that its not happened before but they've made it tough gor themselves again. I was relieved when Ronaldo scored off the spot kick. I know it was controversial but it happens. We lost in the FA cup last season due to a mistake by the referee. Coming to the match, Ronaldo's goal gave the team a boost and the introduction of scholes and rooney totally turned the game in United favour. I was literally pumping shots into the air when I saw rooney score. Scholes showed his class today after his personal terrible start to the season. I'm hoping carrick gets back to full fitness. It'll add a dimension to our game which we've lacked. Luckily we don't have any real big games until the one against Arsenal in november.

It's true the game was different after the first goal, Bolton couldn't play the same defensive game and strike on counter-attack because... there was nothing left to defend. We don't have any big games until Arsenal because we had all in the first stages. That's what the "Utd doesn't stand a chance to win the title this year" people around here don't get.

Though a controversial penalty was awarded, I was never in doubt of a United win. Anyways, it was really good to see rooney score. Hope they can carry on from here. As far as the next big match is concerned, I beleive Arsenal will be easier to beat at the Emirates this year as gallas is like a 12th man for United and also the Gunners have lost two very important players in the midfield. Amidst all this I'm keen on watching the chelsea-liverpool game. I have friends supporting both clubs and it will be fun to tease them when either of the team loses.
