Baby names...

I have three kids and I really love their names (well obviously I do I choose them...) My first son I had his name all picked out from the moment I found out I was pregnant and never changed my mind. With my daughter I did the same had a name all ready for her but whenI saw her I completely changed the name I'd picked and named her something totally different because the original name just didn't seem right once I'd seen her. With my 3rd son I had a name all picked out but wasn't too sure about it but throughout my pregnancy I must of changed my mind a million times but once I was in labour the midwife mentioned this boys name I'd picked originally picked out, so I saw it has a sign that was what his name should be, so that's what I named him. So how did you pick your child/childrens name and did you stick with your first choice or did you like me change your mind once you saw your baby for the first time.

I only have one daughter and her father named her, he insisted that was the name for his daughter, not our daughter, HIS daughter. I wanted to name her Diana Dawn, but he named her Donna Dee, after himself of course. Sheeeesh, no wonder I divorced the selfish so and so. LOL

Well we have 7 kids, 8 in you count our granddaughter we are raising, we count her but others dont. So Im going with 8 . The names and a little behind the name, our oldest is a girl, now when I got pregnant we werent married and my mom was not a happy person with me. She said if I let her name the baby that she would forgive me, I think that this was just so she could name another kid.. lol She picked September Ann and it took a while for me to come to terms with that but I actually really like it now! Next was a son and we just named him after my husband, his name is Richard Kenneth. Our next was another little girl and my husband came up with the name Shalette which I didnt really like but it grew on me. Then I wanted one more, (was hoping for a boy) well we had twin girls, there names are Kelsey and Amber. I dont know why but I had always like the name Amber and hubby named Kelsey. We then had two more. A little girl again ( I know poor son was outnumbered! lol) named her Shantel (after my brother Shane) and her middle name is Mae after my gramma. Then when I got pregnant with the last one, my son said if it wasnt a boy we weren't allowed to bring the baby home. Lucky for him we had a little boy, I named him Storm and we decided on Jerrod Chase for the middle ( I wanted my family name in there somewhere) If he had been a girl it would have been Storm Paige. Which brings us to our granddaughter, we actually got to name her as my daughter wanted to name her Augusta (so was not happening.. lol) her name is Tessa Raine, if she had been a boy it would have been Skyler James. The other granddaughter that lives here with one of our other daughters, I got to name too! Her name is Wynter Rose. Well I know that was long.. lol

With my first i kept changing my mind about his name. But in the end we decided on Rory. I have to say it really suits him as the name means red and he has red hair. Then with my next son we went for Patrick as we wanted another Irish name. But now everyone calls him Pat or Paddy as that is what he prefers. Then with my daughters name it was a name that i had fell in love with and liked since i was 15 i always said that if i ever had a daughter she would be called Bethany. She now prefers to be called Beth. Then with my next son i could not think of a boys name at all we had plenty of girls names but no boys name.I wanted to have a Irish name for him. Then my sister suggested Kian and i fell in love with that name. So Kian it was. Then with my last child who was a boy we decided to also go with an Irish name. As his dad is Irish and my son was born in Ireland. So we ended up calling him Niall as i wanted something a bit more unusual.

My Oldest son i picked his name out the day i found i was pregnant and was named after my Grandfather due to the fact that was my grandmothers wish to have a child named after him and no one else would do it so i did. My youngest son his name was pretty much set jsut had to figure out a middle name to go with the frist and then i was looking threw a baby name book and the name jsut stuck out and so thats what i went with so his name was pretty set by time he was born.....I never changed my mind on my kids names i actually liked them . My second son was named after his father and the middle name was the only thing that didnt match up but never changed .

I don't have any children yet, but I have the most perfect names picked out for when the time does come. I personally believe that a name should be more than just a name, it should have some sort of meaning. I have Mary-Catherine, Liam Jackson, and Oliver Bradley. Mary-Catherine came from both of my grandmothers names, and also my fiances grandmothers name. Liam, in Liam Jackson is from our Irish heritage and Jackson is the town that my dads late best friend, who was like my second father, was born and raised in. Oliver Bradley came from the fact that I absolutely just LOVE the name Oliver and named all of my dolls this when I was younger and Bradley came from my Fiances cousin that passed away a few years ago.

When I was pregnant I of course went for the baby name books. At first if we had a boy his name was going to be Justin david, after my fiance. For a girl I already knew I wanted her middle name to be faith. After going through the baby books I found Jamie Lynn. Well my middle name is lynn and her dads name I justin. So i though huh, what a great way to incorporate both names. So i decided to change it up a bit, so finally I came up with Jamilyn Faith. I had a girl so her name is Jamilyn Faith. If we have a boy with our next won his name is going to be David Justin, because their are to many Justins on each sides of our families. And both of our dads names are david.

My parents also had a change of heart when they first saw me! My dad was pulling one way and he gave in to my mom's desires when he saw how happy she was. I have some idea of what I want to name my children (and I have their future father already! ^_^) but I don't think I'll settle on it fully until I know what it's like to have offspring for the firs time. Thanks for such a fun topic!

My fiance and I do not have kids yet, but we have a girl name already picked out. We are going to call her Kambri Hazel. The first name is after a little girl we met in the airport in Phoenix. I dunnow how her name was spelled, but we wanted to have our own spelling anyway. She was so cute and well behaved and she loved just being held in someone's lap and stuff. She never cried, even though she was still an infant. She was so cute and we felt inspired to name a daughter after her. The middle name came from a dream I had. We were on a bus and holding our daughter, whose name was Hazel in the dream, so we decided on Kambri Hazel for both. No clue on a boy name yet though.

I have 3 girls and a boy. We did the normal thing and had one girl name picked out and one boy name picked out for each child. The first three are girls and the name we picked out we named them. The funny thing is with each pregnancy when we went to pick out the boys name we changed our minds. The first one - girl - Rebecca boy David. We had a girl. Second Girl Megan boy Christopher. We had a girl Third Girl Carly boy Nathan We had a girl. Fourth Girl Colleen Boy Colin We had a boy. So eventhough I love all of my kids names I often wonder if I had boys first would I of changed the girls names.

I named my daughter was born in March, near the Wiccan/Pagan Sabbat, Ostara. So, since I am Wiccan, I decided that it would suit her and she loves it! In fact, she often tells her friends that she's named after an important holiday. I have asked her if she ever wanted to change her name, what would she change it to? Her answer would always be "I like my name, Mommy. Why would I change it?"

Well I have 4 kids. 3 girls and a boy. My first was a girl but we had thought so fervently that it was going to be a boy that we hadn't even talked much about girls names. I had always liked the name Kaitlin so I suggested it and my husband said sure. Its a pretty good name because I like all the variations. Kaitlin, Katie, Kate. Mostly right now she goes by Katie, she is 6. My second born was a boy and he was named Joshua, the name we had chosen when I was pregnant the first time. For our third we had found this name that we both loved for a girl when my first born was a baby. The name was Keilah, pronounced Key I la. I loved it and so did my husband until it was a possibility, then he changed his mind. So I had to search and search for a name I loved as much as that and I found Aliyah. Aliyah is actually my favorite name of all my kids. I think its so beautiful and I never shorten it. My last born we named Alexandra. We wanted to shorten it so I asked my husband what we should call her Alex or Alley. I don't like Lexi. He said Alley. Now I wish we had chosen Alex because having an Alley and a Aliyah is confusing. By the way, what are the names of your kids?

Hi mom4kids... I love all your kids names they really are nice..well my kids are named Ashley my first everyone kept saying he will get called astray when he was at school..well he never has...then my daughter is named Bethany but I had Chloe for her originally but it just was not fitting her little face once I saw her, then my last son his name is Dale which everyone tried to put me off calling him but I just loved it and it suits him he's 9 now and my other kids are 14 and 13...and I love your girls names and don't think they sound confusing at all...

Yeah, for my first daughter we had a name picked out from the very start, but we changed it when she came out for a name my mum heard on a train! My second daughter was totally different. We had books of names, and yet nothing felt right. When I had her, we still couldn't think of a name, and she was Female Infant for a while. Eventually, we decided on a name for her, out of the first book we had read - isn't it always the way. Well the book was Italian - and everyone loves the name, except my Italian grandmother! Go figure!
