Mistakes are a part of life and are never done on purpose so why do you feel bad when you make a mistake ?

Because we are tending to be a perfectionist at the bottom of our heart. It also has something to do with the education during our studying period! Sometimes a task is very important and it permits of no mistake which will lead to a failure. 'What is done can not be undone!' That's always a influence on us. So we may feel bad when making a mistake. And sometimes it is hard to avoid mistakes, but what important is the attitudes toward the work or task!

Hi sam... I think we feel bad because we somehow think we should know better...and we can't believe that we could make a mistake and it causes embarrassment...especially simple mistakes...

It depends on the mistakes and because often the mistakes do not stop at that. So one mistake may turn a bad situation worse. Although the mistakes are never done on purpose, they boomerang and one never knows where they may go. Forgetting a phone number may mean that someone who was waiting for your call may go out to a movie. He may cross the street, but a car about ten cars back may have been speeding and when the other cars backed up may have ran into the last car. One of those cars may have had a woman going to the hospital and she may have a miscarriage. So when one thinks of the mistake, one thinks that somehow someone hurt badly even though you are not directly involved. So by apologizing we feel that whatever bad is happened by our mistake does not happen.

We tend to feel bad cause we want to make it perfect as we wanted or expected to. Some people really expect a great result from someting but when the time they failed they feel disappointed because they really expect for a success. Inorder for someone not to feel bad is not to make yourself expect alot from a certain situation. Failure and mistakes are part of life. Everyone of us in this earth commits failure. As the saying goes "No one is created perfect in this world".

because many of us want to be perfect and can't understand why we don't things the right way the first time around. it's just the way we are. mistakes have consequences. consequences are something no one wants to experience.

Just cause we didnt' want to make the mistake and then we have to do it all over again and if we had did it right the firt time then we wouldn't have to do it all over again and cause when we make a mistake we feel we should know how to do it reight the first time we did it.

Mistakes? I don't make mistakes. Oh, whoops, I was channeling a former boss there for a second. I feel bad when I make mistakes because usually I feel that I should have known better or that I got careless. I feel less bad about mistakes that I have made when they were from a guinine lack of knowledge or fimilarity with a situation. In these cases I hope that I can learn from the mistakes and not repeat them and try to recognize similar situations when they occur.

I feel bad when I make mistakes. Especially when it is a dumb mistake that could have been easily avoided. I think most people strive for perfection even though it is really an unattainable thing. No one is perfect. The fear of letting other people down is a big motivating factor in feeling bad about mistakes too.

because to me it's being a real person, we should feel this way, and if you don't then something not right. but the idea of mistakes is to go back and a try to fix them another part of being a real person

Hello samtaylorskykierajen I think that we feel bad because if we had really thought about it we could have avoided making the mistake and it is obviously worse if the mistake has caused hurt to others!

It is not uncommon to feel remorseful for doing something wrong. Because we are almost always striving for perfection. When we do something that is wrong. We have a harder time accepting that we have not lived up to our own expectations. These feelings are magnified even more if we caused physical or emotional harm to someone that we care about.

Because we feel that it is our faults even if it was beyond our control that is what guilt does. I know I hate the feeling I get when I make a mistake it can be overwhelming at times. And can even cause depression.

I think that we are trained to feel bad when we make mistakes. We are trained not to be too confident for fear of looking arrogant, or boastful. I think that religion and cultural background, also family, are all forces society uses to impose unnecessary guilt on people. I am a very confident person, and I don't have the time to wallow in self pitty when I make a mistake.

It depends whether it is a trivial mistake or not. If it had great repercussions or not. If other persons have suffered due to my mistakes or not.

Because it's hard to admit when we have been wrong and hard to face others who we feel might judge us, as many do.

We feel bad because we think of others. Others might have got hurt or felt bad due to our actions. This makes us feel bad. It is the childhood experience that bring guilty when we do mistakes. We were taught by parents to feel guilty for our bad actions. Suddenly we shrink to our childhood. It is quite natural and it shows the good part of your mind that you feel bad by doing mistake! happy mylotting!
