Is technology getting too advanced? Maybe technology will gain a mind of its own

I think that now-a-days, tehcnology is getting too advanced for our own good. I was watching this show one day called "Future Cars", and they were talking about how in 20 years (now 18 years) cars will be smart enough to talk to each other through some sort of communication device, to let other cars know when to move out of their way, and stuff like that. Giving technology a mind of it's own is not a good idea at all in my opinion. What's your opinion on this subject?

That is a bad idea because if a car or any other machine malfunctions it might hurt somebody or something.

Yes, that's true, and i'm sure the cars would malfunction quite often. Just watch the other FutureCar movies, and you would see. :) Not to mention, the people who plan on creating these cars also say that the cars will travel faster than 200 miles an hour, because the cars will be "auto-piloted". What more disastrous thoughts could they possibly come up with?

Think of it this way, at least you won't need to worry about speed limits anymore because your can't might not let u drive faster than that and if you did get a fine for speeding then you can blame the car company or say: "its not me, its the car." Best of all, there is a very low chance your car will be stollen since your car will be smart enough to recognise you. And its bad news for criminals, they can't really use a "get-away" car anymore because the police would be able to force the car to slow down.

Thanks for the link. I'll have to take a look at that web-site...and we cannot be assured that it will take over us, but there is a high possibility that it will. :)
