My mother died of stomach cancer, and my grandfather of enviromental cancer and I heard that as a woman and in my sixties, my chances of cancer whether those kinds but also breast may increase. I do not smoke so there is little chance of lung cancer. I also do not live in a warm climate all year round. It gets quite cold here in winter and nothing can grow. I heard that broccoli is quite good and also tomatoes. Now are there any foods, that are cheap to get that are good at fighting cancer and reversing it. I know that too much fat is bad, but are there recommended fats in reasonable qualities, etc.

A friend of mine here on myLot wrote a thing on curing and preventing cancer and the most important thing was oxygen. Cancer can't survive oxygen! Breathe deeply often, get a lot of fresh air and cancer also hates cold so you live in a good climate to avoid cancer. I think, though, that cancer runs in families mainly.

The trouble is that with morality being what it is, you cannot expose certain parts of your body. My family tends to run to stomach cancer, but since they have taken much of the nitrates out of it, then I guess they will have to find another type of cancer to take over.

I don't know many of them ,but my sister recently told me that she had read that u remove the skin of garlic, before half an hour u want to consume it, that develops some elements that are capable of fighting the deadly disease.

I did that. Half an hour has not passed yet. I hope it works. I guess I have to have one a day. Usually it takes us a long time to get rid of garlic because I use garlic powder in cooking, but now I will not have that problem, and it is easier to get garlic then much of the other stuff. Fresh fruit, the kind recommended is a bit expensive during the winter.

We get canned salmon, but I am sick of fish sandwiches, so those Omega3 fish oils and dark green leafy veggie sound good. Does spinach help? Because I have some in the freezer and the side by side freezer here.

Here is an excellent link for cancer fighting foods (broccoli is listed). BTW many non smokers do get lung cancer and many smokers do not. This is linked to a specific gene. http://www.cancure.org/cancer_fighting_foods.htm

Well avocado is rather expensive, but I eat lots of brocolli and cabbage, and I did have flax for a while. Bit I guess I will have to get sprouts though. The citrus fruit is expensive now and my husband cannot eat grapefruit because it interferes with his pills and it seems that is the one that I need the most. I do use rosemary, and I have raspberries in our garden, so that gives me a lot to start with. Thanks for the link.

I have heard that Mustard helps. Might want to get it a shot! Also Whole Foods that have not been processed at all!

I put Mustard in lots of things, and I do like curry. And I could sneak tumeric in stews and stuff. I cannot see taking a tsp a day all by itself, but if it were introduced into food. What kind of cancer does it help against? But reading that it kills the cancer producing cells does help. I do help it also reverses the process.

It sounds like a good idea. I should use it more often. Have to find more ways to utilize it in our diet. I mean I love mustard but I prefer the old German mustard, not the kind that has tumeric in it. I find it way too mild.

There are many foods which can provide significant protection against cancer and heart attacks. What you eat can add many years to your life by dramatically reducing your prospects for developing any of the host of 'modern' degenerative illnesses so common today. There are some foods which really fight against cancer. some of them are first is the onion group which contain garlic, chives, onions, asparagus and so on. The second kind of foods are broccoli, cabbage, turnips, cauli flower. Third is almonds, sesame seeds, walnuts etc, Rice and wheat all fight against cancer. Soyabeans, green peas also help. Oranges, lemon, grapes ,water melon are also the fruits which help the chances to avoid cancer. The other important food are cucumber, turmeric, ginger, pepper, pumpkin etc. Even if you want to use fats use ghee which is best, especially cows ghee but in less quantity.

Does olive oil on the good list? I do eat most of those foods. I hate turnips, but love cabbage and broccoli. I want to fight against Br*st cancer. I have large ones, DD cup and I do not know if that size makes it easier to get that type of cancer. I do eat walnuts and almonds, but finished my sesame seeds. Thanks for the suggestion.

I do not smoke so there is little chance of lung cancer. you made the above statement surely you are aware that smoking is not the only cause of lung cancer? I myself have never smoked in my life however after working for 22 yrs exposed to rocket fuel and its various components i am a prime target i already suffer from silicosis due to filtering the stuff through sand so please be aware its not only smokers

My grandfather got cancer from working as a compositor in a newspaper place. But I would suppose that had you smoked, your risk would have been greater. It is the same as second hand smoke, the risk is worse if one smokes, but not so bad, that is, they may get it later on. So someone who smokes may get it at 40 years old but someone who inhaled second hand smoke may get it at 65. But smoking is considered the main cause. And I guess no one knows about the other contributors, or at least with those you are not to blame.

I do love garlic. I have to eat it when I get home from church. I do like to put garlic in most food, except for dessert of course. I did not know that. I knew about broccoli, cabbage, and tomatoes though.
