Bank Of America Is Greedy!!!

The other day, I was getting ready to go shopping. I went online to transfer some money from my savings account to my checking account. But on accident, I did the reverse, which made my checking account overdrawn. I immediately noticed the mistake and switched it back around the right way. Do you know that Bank Of America charge me a $35.00 fee. They said, I switched it back too late. So I called the bank on Friday and they reversed the charge, but when I looked at my account today, I was overdrawn again for the same thing. I called again and the lady had a real crappy attitude. She said, it was not our mistake was it? I could not believe she was acting that way. At first I tried to reason with her. But then she said, I have just refunded the money. So I said thank you and hurried off the phone. However, I did call them greedy while debating about my point. So let this be a warning to anyone who does business with this bank, get it right the first time or it will cost you.

Hey Rozie I hear you loud and clear!! I bank with them too. I have several accounts, including a CD. I am SUPPOSED to be a preferred member... now that's bull! They did the exact same thing to me and I had other stuff come into my checking account at the same rime so they only refunded half of the fees! I was blown away given the current economical condition here and told them so! This is a great topic of discussion and I hope many will read it and learn! Have a good day.

They are just totally heartless. To charge $35.00 for such a miner mistake is ridiculous. This is the thing that I love most about Mylot, when I have a bad experience with a business, I want to be able to warn everybody.

Bank of America is the worst! I left them after a teller pocketed some money from my daughter's deposit. They somehow couldn't come up with the original deposit slip I filled out. How convenient for them. I pulled all my money out of my accounts and took it across the street to another bank. They told me they get a lot of BOA customers who come in mad about what has happened to them. There isn't a bankofamericasucks.com because they are a good bank!!

They are not a good bank. They are simply stable, strong, and convinently located.

I am glad that you have it straightened out. I think they do that hoping you don't contact them and then, they make lots of extra money. I don't think they are the only ones that do this.

I am on a fixed income, so I have to watch every dollar that comes in. I do not have the luxury of letting in business have their way with my account. Must be nice though.

I quit using Bank of America years ago because of this practice and others like it. Then my credit card company got bought by them. Believe me that card is high on my list of pay off quickly. Just so I can send it back to them cut up into teeny tiny pieces with a nasty note.

I do not blame you. If you can find a more stable bank in your area, by all means, leave BofA in your dust.

Of all the banks and credit card companies I have ever dealt with, they are the least understanding, least co operative and the least customer service oriented. I have told them so on the phone, more than once. I went to take my client to cash a check on Saturday morning. Every single bank in this town has at least limited hours on Saturday, except hers; she has the misfortune of banking with Bank of America.

Bank Of America seems to be a pretty strong bank. I believe that this is why so many people are willing to deal with their crap, but their day of reckoning will come.

banks are just in the game to make money period, they really don't care at all about people, just money, money money.

You are absolutely right about that. I wanted to really give that lady a piece of my mind, but so could have done some real serious damage to my account, so I think her and hurried off the phone.

All the banks are being greedy, they are hurting and in trouble. They are going to try to make as much money as they can. A computer automaically charges that fee as soon as an account is overdrawn. Most banks will refund it if its a mistake like what happened with you. I am glad they did that for you, $35 is alot of money to loose. Whenever you encounter a problem like that, right away ask to speak to a supervisor or a manager, you get better results and faster too.

I was totally blown away by that charge. I always assumed that an overdraft was an overnight thing. I noticed and changed the mistake right away. This world is really stating to get crazy, when it comes to money. I pray that America survives what it is going through. I believe that they do not tell us much, until they have no other choice. I believe if they did, we would live in a perpetual panic.

I only have one account with them (a checking account) but I know what you're talking about. I bank with B of A in the states, and BMO here in Canada. it really sucks, the overdraft fees that I have had to put up with at Bank of America. Seriously, a few cents, or a little mistake, and they charge you $35. It really sucks.

Thanks for the warning. I have had my problems with banks from the past. Like my last bank chargng $6.00 s day every day from the day you came up short. I mean I am on disability so it's not like I had the money to go and pay them on the day my checking account came up short. So they charged my 31.00 which is fine but 6.00 a day every day untill I payed them. I just couldn't do anymore so I left them. That was Prosperity Bank.

It is ridiculous the way that banks charge us for such small things. I know that Bank Of America has always been no good, but at least they are pretty stable and worldwide.

That is pretty crappy. How about my bank lost $20 of mylast deposit and it still hasn't been resolved! My husband made our deposit last week and my bank's computer's were down. The girl wrote down the deposit amount and said it would be taken care of as soon as possible. Well, I checked online the next day and $20 was missing. I asked my husband what the deal was and he went back up there and the girl said she didn't know what the problem was but that she remembered that I had given her the amount it was supposed to be. Long story short- she claimed she would get it taken care of, even if she had to use her own money. Still haven't saw that 20 bucks yet. I will be up there and not a happy camper if it's not fixed by Friday. Some might say it's only $20, but that $20 could really help right now, you know?
