Would you go for that? I was thinking what if my daughter didn't call me mom. She has gotten in the habit of saying Mimii. I've tried to correct her but she wont do it. I told my mom and she said at least she is not calling by your first name. What are your opinions on what your children call you?

Wow, that's weird, my daughter calls me Mimi as well. Or Moomoo. I don't mind. She know's I'm her mom. Once in a while she'll say mom or mommy or ma to me but normally she says mimi. I call her pet names too. Noodle is my nick name for her or boo boo. When I come home from after work, I usually say Hi booboo and she says Hi mimi. I wouldn't get too concerned about it. It's just her pet name for you.

my two year old daughter calls me daddy 99% of the time. I have tried to ignore her until she calls me mommy (with little success). I have tried to correct her and say no I am mommy (not working). Has anyone else experienced this? I try not to take it personal and think it will pass? I am also trying to get her to say her own name. Any advice would be appreciated!

I taught my son how to call me by my first name just in case he were to get lost in a store and he's only 3 so obviously he can't see out the peep hole of the front door and he is to never look out the window so if I got pick him up from his grandparents house and he asks who is it he will know its me. He referes to me and his dad and mom and dad but if someone asks him what our names are he knows that too.

hehehe that's cute.. She probly can't cant say mommy properly yet so says mimmii instead. I think that is cute.... My children call me mum or mummy... My friends son calls both his parents by their first name I find it weird I personally don't like it. His mum has asked him why and to call her mum but he feels shy too because he has always called her by her first name.... Even now myself I find it hard to call my parents by their first names, it doesn't feel right.... It's funny when you call out mum in a shopping centre, most mum's will turn around.

My children only call me as Mama. And I don't think they want to change it. In the school, all the children call their mother as Mama too. So I guess they will not get any influence to call me with other name.

I guess your child is comfortable of calling you on that name. It will worry be as well if my child will call me mimi instead of mommy. I never had experience that yet since my baby is still on my womb. But for sure when my child is born ill make sure that my baby will call me mom. I think eventually your daughter will learn to call you mom too. She will get rid of that habit if you keep on reminding her.
