Hello my friend. Well, I have no problems with paying the taxes. What I do mind is the fact that we don't even know where all our taxes are going. The thing here is we have a very corrupt government, with corrupt officials. So expect our hard earned money going to their pockets instead of ours. It's frustrating. We pay exorbitant amounts for taxes and yet our country isn't getting any better. There is no stability or growth. They say that things are getting better but in reality it's not... and it will never be not unless they stop corruption. Our taxes are financing a lot of illegal things, which is sad.

As of actual fact, i dun feel like paying taxes at all.. Because it means we are actually paying the government, and for that, we still have got to listen to them, abide by their rules and laws.. haha =D PLus, taxes are always so high, that most ple will wanna evade them.. If possible to have more money by one's side, who will wanna pay them to someone who's riding over us?? haha

I think we pay way too many taxes. There are actually taxes that we pay on taxes. I understand a few of them, but why so many? It is pretty ridiculous, in my opinion.

I do not like them, but we do have to pay taxes. They seem to be like a cancer, in that the more you pay, the more the government wants. We also must be sure to elect honest officials, and the honesty should come for knowing what they dd a few years back, not way back like twenty years, but in the last four years. I do think that they should have a straight tax rate of ten percent after a certain deductible. That will be fairer.

I think taxes are something that is needed BUT and this is a big BUT, they hit us on everything and it makes it very hard to live. The corruption is another thing, we are lining the politicians pockets. You wanna be rich go into politics! I would love to be able to see where all that money goes, I know that we need things like, firemen and other things like that but at the same time do you know how many benefits they have to have to get things for their fire companies? My husbands check is taxed so much that he can make a check goes from 600 (gross) to 400 (net) to me that is absurb. Then you have all the stupid studies that the government authorize, like the study on smoking in buildings. They have concluded there is less pollution in smoke-free buildings, who would have thought that?!!! Studies on fruit flies and such. Like I said stupid studies that the money could be spent on the good of people and communities.

I have no opposition against paying taxes since they are being used for the welfare of the country. But the fact that our hard earned money is wasted in corruption at the name of fact, is really an annoying and shameful thing.

I don't mind taxes either, and hubby and I pay a ton of them. But it bothers me that Democrats think that the so-called rich should be taxed more. And it really bothers me that when Obama was asked in an interview what was too much for the rich to pay, he didn't respond. During FDRs terms, the rich paid 90% of their income in taxes. No wonder he was able to start so many new programs. Sorry. I don't think that's right. We're not living in Sherwood Forrest and the govenment is not Robinhood. If you've ever known anyone who has worked for govenment agencies, you know that there is so much wasteful spending and way too much idle time. My mom, in her only stint as a government employee (for the VA in the typing pool) was told to slow down because she was making everyone else look bad. My ex had the same experience in the only government job he ever had. He was told that they would fire him if he didn't slow down...because his speed would make them reconsider the quotas they all had and they didn't want to work harder. We also know that most of the bills that are passed have some kind of pork attached to them. It's ridiculous that our government is using good money to study the most stupid things. Or the most obvious things.

My thoughts about taxes... well, they were thought up to pay for a war. Probably the first one or two that the US encountered. This is what I've HEARD anyway, and it does make sense. However - I do not agree with them continuing. I do not care if it's 'for the government'. As a private citizen, I cannot leverage taxes against millions of people I don't know in order to support myself, so it is not fair for them to take money from us either. UNLESS they are spending it on what WE as citizens want them to spend it on. You and I both know this will never happen, as they do not listen to the citizens or our concerns nor spend even a pittance of that money on things we care about as consumers, employees, parents, etc. I have also heard that there are ways to go about not paying taxes because you don't really have to. Most people are afraid of the IRS and lawsuits though because those tend to get ugly if you are targetted. Again I am not sure why a corrupt government has the right to harrass and terrorize people just because they want to take money from them - money that each person is making to support themselves, not the government. I would choose never to support the government in any way, shape, or form if I could.

I think everyone should pay taxes at a flat % rate. Taxes pay for our schools, any public buildings and resources we have, the police, fire fighters, etc... They need to be paid.

taxes should be eliminated all together.

I feel like this is bullcrap. I dont unerstand why we have to pay taxes. So the government can become rich. Forget that. Thats why when I get a job, I usually dont make very much. I file exempt. Have you ever heard of it? If not, its when you dont have any taxes taken out of your check. Or I could be like my mom and dont file my taxes and the end of the years. I think that it will catch up to her eventually. I dont like the idea, but o'well. Nothing I do will ever change it.

Not paying taxes is definitely going to catch up with her someday. I've known two people who went to prison for avoiding taxes. And they both lost everything they owned to pay the taxes, interest and penalties.

I am not really opposed to the idea of me paying taxes to the government but I do hate the idea that our government has corrupt officials and care nothing except how to make their wallet fat. I am earning more than the average salary that is why I am paying a pretty large amount of tax since I am still single and no dependents. I am frustrated by the fact that people doesn't seem to care about the government's project or students in public schools cutting classes. They don't care that the money spend on doing these things or sending them to schools came from taxpayers like us.

I will not mind paying taxes also, IF I am seeing where my taxes go. The problem is when people who have the authority and the responsibility to take care of managing the taxes are taking advantage of their positions. There is nothing wrong with paying taxes, the problem is the people up there who are handling these...

taxes are okay for me as long as they don't go to the pockets of the politicians. i know that's something inevitable in our country today and it has been expected by a lot of people. taxes should be used to improve the state of our country not to improve the houses and lifestyles of the politicians.

Its okay to have taxes as long as it will go to the improvement of the country not to their every pockets. Most of us are paying taxes every month..but still this country has no improvement. WHy? Because of corruption. Why those other country improve much? Because all their taxes are being put for the welfare of the people for the improvement of their place. HOw i really wish we too are like that! Pity is the Philippines..pity are the filipinos.

Well, it's normal to pay taxes IF they are at normal ratings. Ofcourse in the big cities the taxes are a bit higher, but here in Hungary they aren't so hihg..I only have to pay yearly to the government an amount of 25.000 Forint, what is about the same as 120 dollars, I believe! And that counts for 5 persons, so if I needed to pay it just for myself, it would come down to an amount of 25 dollars! Which is actually nothing for a yearly tax ofcourse! We don't have to pay anything for our car, accept for the insurance. The use of the highways we don't have to pay apart, because it's included in the gas prices, which I think is a very good thing. On this way, you will only need to pay the amount of how much you're using the roads, so everyone needs to pay a different amount, depending on how much gas you bought! I really do think taxes are needed, to make everything better..but sometimes you hear the total of that amount of taxes, and how much the government people who work there get paid!! I really don't think that's normal, and I do think there should be some kind of a maximum to that, but that would be an whole other story..
