I had this weird feeling about sharp objects piercing into me. Not anymore because I donated blood and it dint feel so bad. Now I feel much better. I still have this tiny fear of heights and I have to overcome it at all costs. I really wanna sky dive. Im sure after that, either I wont have a fear of heights or Ill be dead! What are your fears and would you challenge it to overcome it?

i think that's a very brilliant idea, and yes that's how i overcome my fears,i was very shy before i couldn't even feel comfortable being looked at(i am serious..not exaggerating)!!....guess what i did!...i acted in a play,i was very good during the rehearsals, but when i got on the stage,it was horrible,i blushed so hard and forgot my lines and started sweating and oh..i don't even want to remember that day,but as a coincidence the lights got so intense i couldn't see but the stage i was on,i couldn't see the people down there at all,the guy who was acting with me tried to adlib and help me with the lines i forgot,it went well afterwards and during my very second play i was very relaxed!

I had a fear of public speaking, so when I was asked to be on a committee to raise money for charities - by heading meetings to groups of people, several times per day I FORCED myself to accept. I found that the more meetings I held, the better I got at it and the fear slowly dissipated. Although I would still rather blend into the background, I no longer dread the idea of public speaking.

Hello a3sachin! I think that it would be great for all of us to overcome all our fears. But I do not know if that is really possible. I have Ophidiophobia or fear of snakes. It is actually called by a more general term, Herpetophobia, fear of reptiles. I don't think I'd go through any activity that would involve snakes even if it means that I would lose that fear.

Yes there are some things that I'll do to overcome my fears. I'm afraid of height and I'll get in an airplane to overcome it, but I wouldn't jump out of a plane to overcome it. I'm also afraid of spiders because I was bit by one when I was 4 years old, but I wouldn't pick up one to overcome that fear, I wouldn't go anywhere near it if I can prevent it. I fear snakes but you can't pay me to pick one up. No way!

I think it's really cool that you overcame your fear of being pierced by sharp objects while you were donating blood. Neat to overcome that while you're doing something to help others! If you don't want to take the plunge into skydiving right away, you could do one of those bungee type things at one of the amusement parks. I am afraid of bad car accidents, but I don't think I'll be able to test something out to overcome that fear. I have actually been in a couple of car accidents, so the idea of them just freaks me out.

I think your very brave to get over your fear of needles by donating blood... I'm good at overcoming fear, I won't let it over take me and I always tell myself there is nothing to fear but fear it's self and if something does instill fear in me I become more determined to meet it head on..I don't know where this reaction has come from but it's just the way I react..I think your not frightening me..lol
