Here's what Sarah Palin had to say about fellow V.P candidate Joe Biden at a rally in Columbus, Ohio: "So I guess it’s my turn now, and I do look forward to Thursday night. … I’m looking forward to meeting him, too. I never met him, but I’ve been hearing about his Senate speeches since I was in, like, second grade" http://www.youdecide2008.com/2008/09/30/palin-biden-prepping-for-thursdays-big-vp-debate/ In the latest installment of interviews with Katie Couric, here is what Palin had to say when Couric questioned her about that remark, considering she's the running mate of a Presidential candidate who is 72 years old, about 7 years OLDER than Biden: Katie: "When you have a 72 year-old running mate, isn't that kind of a risky thing to say? Insinuating that Joe Biden has been around a while?" Sarah: "Oh no! It's not the negative at all. He's got a lot of experience... I'm the new energy, the new face, the new ideas. And he's got the experience, based on many, many years in the Senate and voters will have a choice there in what it is that they want..." http://current.com/items/89356674_palin_on_biden_age_comment_video_cbsnews_com I could have sworn she said "experience" more times than that but maybe they edited out part of the interview here...lol! What do you think? Should Palin be playing the age OR the experience cards here? Annie

LOL Are you kidding? I guess it's that open mouth insert foot thing. She's really good at insulting people, maybe she should study more and makes less "funnies". And, she must not have been listening to Biden talk or she would know that being close to a country doesn't make you an expert on foreign policy.

The moment I heard her say that about listening to Biden when she was in the second grade I just about lost it! If that were true, surely something would have sunk in! Keith is just now reporting that it's been confirmed that in part of her interview with Katie Couric that has yet to be aired Katie asked her about a Supreme Court decision other than Roe V Wade and she couldn't think of any. I guess she was doing something really important regarding fighting the Russians off in Alaska when Bush V Gore came up...lol! Annie

LOL or how about Brown vs. The Board of Education or Plessy vs. Ferguson. Those are two big cases that I thought everyone knew but when I mentioned Plessy vs. Ferguson he didn't know lol. Maybe Katie should have asked who the prime minister of Russia was in the 1980's.

I thought this would be a more legitimate shot at Palin. All she said was that she was looking forward to someone she has been hearing about all her life. One thing I will say though, I am tired of both sides taking shots at the other that could just as easily been taken against themselves. I just don't think this was a very good example of the silly little game.

I wish they would quit throwing out things like that and get on something that is important. It is really getting tiring.

This is a classic "it's not what you say it's how you say it" scenario. She sounded snide, and Cindy McCains reaction behind her said it all. The way I saw it this was not pointing a finger to Bidens experience, it was sticking her foot in her mouth. But then again, what are we coming to expect from someone who thinks answering a question from a voter is "gotcha journalism" (which is funny because wasn't she a journalism major?), and can't even answer a question as simple as what type of magazines or newspapers she reads.

That she couldn't or wouldn't answer the question as to what magazines and newspapers she reads still amazes me. That would have been a silly question IF Palin hadn't said herself that she made up for her lack of foreign travel by reading lots of newspapers and magazines. Annie
