Do you ever save old jars to put things in?

I save a few old jars or even an empty tube of Pringles to put loose change in. I love saving the jars to put small loose miscellaneous items in it, such as paper clips, pens(depending on the size of the jar) and other items in it. It makes my place look a little more organized without spending money on traditional organizers. I wash out the jars first, dry them well and sometimes decorate them to make them look better.

I use washed out baby food jars to organize my paperclips, rubberbands and stuff like that. My daughter is 8 and she loves to save jars. She puts her small bouncy balls in one, her mcdonalds toys in the bigger ones. I agree that sometimes they come in handy. One year I took pringles cans and had the kids I babysit paint them white. Then we took a marker and drew a snowman face on them. I then took old socks and made a hat and scarf for them. They loved them and gave them to mom and dad for a christmas gift.

Remember when Pringles first came out and they had those rippled liners? People were always using those to make candles out of. Too bad they don't have the liners anymore. I liked those candles.

Ha that's funny because i save baby jars now. I have a 11 month old son and me and my wife save all these baby jars for things for X-MAS and stuff. She always has some crazy idea for those little jars. So far i've only put change and old earrings in. I guess i'll find some crazy use for them someday. LOL.

I feel like I save everything. Sometimes I need to step back and figure out if I really need the containers and things I am freezing. I dont have a lot of storage in my home so I have to be selective about what I keep. I do decorate containers instead of buying containers to store things in.

I do that too. I will save things other than jars, such as containers that my face clothes come in (you know that disposible kind with soap in them). They are made of hard plastic with a snap lid, very convient for lots of things. I like to decorate my reused boxes and cans too.

Hi there. I save some jars for later use - especially Nutella jars that can be used for many things - keeping powder cocoa, coffee and other "dust" substances

I haven't done that yet. My husband had these long wafer sticks that come in these cans, and I think I want to save them. I was thinking that maybe I could decorate it with some fabric or something, and make pencil holders out of them. I already threw one away, I think I'll try and save the rest.

i love to collect old jars and old tins so, yes, i save them and use them for a lot of things. especially old cookie tins - they are great for keeping small stuff together in one area, epecially for me as i am a scrapbooker and have a lot of little bits and pieces of stuff laying around.

I do save my jars. This year I began making sauces out of my tons of tomatoes...and I used the empty jars for this. One is they were much cheaper than buying the Mason jars and also the Mason jars were sold out in my area. And as long as I closed them tightly and stored them in the fridge they were fine to use. I also like using them for the things you mentioned. I only save glass jars though.

We do the same, except for the decorating part LOL. We usually put in stuff like sugar, salt and other spices that come in bags instead of bottles. I also collect some nice ones for the odds and ends that I gather up on my desk and just can't throw away.

We used to safe jars earlier but those days we made all kind of fruit jams and pickles so we needed jars to keep the food in. Now, these days I have maybe 2 or 3 jars at home because sometimes I need to give some over left food away.

I save laundry detergent containers to use as watering cans =) Peanut-butter jars are saved, containers from store bought food when we do buy them, applesauce jars... Because I can use them for growing things, storing food later, etc.

Yup, I also collect glass and plastic containers; those that are colorful and have cute designs either for keeping things in, or display. I would keep use them to keep coins, buttons, pins. Some food jars/containers I would use to keep sweets, nuts and cookies.

I will keep only some of the old jars to put things like salt, sugar,or some snacks and tidbits. I don't keep all the jars because I am running out of space to put my things. I only keep some old jars with suitable sizes and more convenient to keep things. Lol.

I save all my glass jars and use them to store dry goods in the kitchen. I'm such a mooch, I get some nice instant coffee ones from friends. I also save all my plastic food containers for storage. Why should I buy them at the store when I get so many for free? Even the cheaper, thinner ones from the deli counter can be used a few times.
