Unscrupulous homeowners renting out foreclosed homes. Who do they think they are getting even with? Some of these people paid in full and now have to move. Landlord collects rent, then defaults on mortgage. Utilities get turned off etc. What do you think could be done about this? http://cosmos.bcst.yahoo.com/up/player/popup/?rn=4226712&cl=9997469&src=news

That is a shame people stoop so low to get money and hurt unsuspecting people in the process. For those who have home owners insurance they are lucky they may get that money back or something. But for those who don't it is a mess and they can be out in the streets without nothing..sometimes moving in with friends or family is not a option. I feel that these types of people who would do such a thing to unsuspecting people should be brought up on fraud charges along with alot of other charges maybe it will put a stop to the scam being done.

According to the report, these landlords haven't broken any laws.

Well maybe not a law here on earth but I bet they will be judged by it when they reach those pearly gates..be kinda funny if they got to live in heaven for a few then god decided to do them as they did those people. Do unto others as you would have them to do unto you. It should be a law against doing something like this is is trickery and taking advantage of people.

This was on the news this morning. It does seem like a nasty and unjust thing to do to the landlord. I am under the impression that having a lease agreement does give you some rights even if a bank takes the house back. It seems to me that they have to evict you like any other tenant. Not sure, however, real estate law isn't in my area of knowledge.

You would think it is illegal. I was shocked to find out it wasn't.

I'm not really sure. People are doing some wild and crazy things these days, just to make a dollar or two while doing it. I guess they are trying to raise money to get another place. Who knows?

It may not be illegal, but it should be. Some people just have no shame! I feel really bad for the people who are getting kicked out of their homes because of these people.
