I'm disappointed, I tried my hotlink, & it does not follow through. Instead I got the generic home page. This has been going on since I tried to post invites to friends from the address, using myLot. So I think either myLot is really Big Brother or Big Brother has a gremlin program sitting on my posts & links. Anyway, her is another: http:/www.mylot.com/w/discussions/1727081.aspx and we'll try the other one again without referencing me... http:/www.mylot.com/w/newsarticl/1290105.aspx

I don't think the people of the United States have ever been truly united. When the two party system was set up it divided the people. Ever since then it has been "US" and "THEM". Things like this $700B bail out divides then even more. And, if this bail out doesn't work they will be divided even more and blaming each other. The Bible says a house divided cannot stand. The same applies to a Nation. If the people don't wake up and take this nation back under one roof it will also fall. The way things are going now it won't be long about it. This bail out will not work for this reason. Our government is simply going to replace money the large lenders lost. If you just lost everything you had and some one replaced it what would you do. Myself the first thing I would do is secure the money as best as possible and then I would not do what I did before to loose it again. This is exactly what these large lenders will do. They will grab the money and then sit down on it and when they do our economy will crash. This is exactly what caused the last depression. The big money people stopped investing and the money dried up at the lowest level. There is something about these large lenders that most people don't think about. The money they lost did not belong to them. It belonged to the investors that put their money into the investment banks. If our government puts that money back into these investment banks the ones that out it into the investment bank will grab every cent they can get of it as soon as possible. The money will no longer be there for the people that need loans to do business. You're not likely to hear something like that on CNN but you just watch and wait and see what happens.

You're exactly right. And people need to realize that the $700B bailout isn't going to be helping the economy and the people in the long run, it's going to be helping the government. If people truly want to be free, they must learn that with freedom comes responsibility; financial responsibility, moral responsibility, civil responsibility. If we want to be free, we can't rely on government to solve our every problem, especially when those problems arise from our own neglect and indifference. The problems we are facing right now would never have happened if we, the people, had kept a constant watch on what the government was doing. We worry more about the trivialness of our everyday lives than we do about the business our government is conducting. I've said this over and over and I'll keep saying it until things begin to change: THE PEOPLE HAVE GOT TO WAKE UP!!

You are exactly correct. I think we are about to get a lesson in personal conduct we are not likely to forget for a long time. We the people must wake up and take charge of where this country is going. If we don't the big money people are going to destroy it all in the name of a profit. We the little guy down here on bottom struggling to just pay our bills until we get another paycheck are always the ones these people hurt the most and I for one am tired of it. It's time the people stood up on their feet and let the world know we have had enough.

i do agree with your sentiment about this bail out issue, there are this probabilities that things will go the way as you mention it, and all these wise greedy people who care not about the good of your country will just empty those money intended for the people. however if this bailout will or will not pass the congress the problem in the economy is still there and this bailout is just a way of pacifying the problem and not actually solving it..and it needs to be resolved otherwise things for america will go in different way as it is used to be...
