Start with anything you have in mind. You don't always have to start at the very beginning of the story. You can start in the middle of the story and do "flashback". Remember you can always edit your story so write on. Have a nice day!

That's what I hate about writing. It cannot be done as fast as you think of the story. And it needs some structure in order for the readers to like it. I am not a good story teller in real life.

I guess if you want to write a story then the key thing is to write! Just write and write and write and keep on practising! Any ideas that you receive, just write them down and see what develops. I have been published four times now. I have a short piece of fiction published on Associated Content. I have a piece published on Triond and I have two pieces published on reviewstream. The funny thing is, I have only just started writing and I find it very enjoyable. I didn't know what I was going to write about I just made it up, I wrote down whatever came into my head! I guess you should write as you speak. Write your piece of writing, on completion read it once more to see if anything sounds out of place including those sentences and then make any corrections before submitting your work. Good luck, you can do it. Andrew

Yes, certainly, you can have the links although I don't think you are allowed to post links on My Lot so, invite me as a friend and then I will send them to you in a private message. Goodluck, Andrew

Well, you have to find your own style. It takes alot of reflection and experimentation to create a style which you enjoy. For writing a story, unless you've an active imagination which can help you make one up as you go along...you should probably start thinking about what sort of story you'd like to write. Something that interests you and ignites your imagination. This'll help you get the inspiration. I personally write on "flavors"...that is feelings of atmosphere for the scenes I write about inside the books. The overall story should have its own feel, and then that builds a foundation for me to create "flavors" for the scenes. It's very fun and helps me feed my own inspiration for my stories. To create flavors I'll often listen to music or go for walks...and sometimes just everyday conversations with people can spark a flavor. Writing is an ARTFORM, not a science. Like everyone who wants to be an artist, you need to find your own way of making your own creations.

Well i think if u want a story the first thing u need is an idea. Once you know what u want to write about it'll be alot easier to figure out what kinda style you're gonna write it in.

Start with a setting: say a cabin in the woods. Who is in the cabin, what are they doing, what is going to happen. How did they get to the cabin etc. I started that way and got a 6 page story out of it.

You have to find yor own style. As for the topics observe the people around you. Society is a subject for good stories. Add some flavour to what you observe. That should do it.

Hi, I need to find my own style. I read a lot of books about finance and money such as Rich Dad series, Think and Grow Rich, The 7 habits of most effective people, stock market investing, Warren Buffett and so on. I think I need to read more books to find my style.

You must have the skill and the inspiration to write about a particular story. It's not at all easy to start with but when you already have the inspiration and have started to scribble words and put ideas into written words, it would be difficult for you to stop. As long as you have the skill in grammar, language and style in writing will exactly depend on your level of expertise. But maybe for neophyte writers, it would be much better to start with simple and compound sentence structures.

Hello there. I am not a writer but I like writing. There are lots of writer in this place and you can meet them everywhere. The first of all, if you like to write story, you should be able to write in long and descriptive language *wink* and I noticed from your discussion you don't really do it. LOL. Just kidding. Before you start, I think first you have to choose what kind of story you want to make. A drama, a comedy, or what? After you choose the genre you can start to go to the next step, making a plot of the story and the characters. From the plot and the characters you have made you can start to build your story and develop the plot to the whole new story. About the sentences, you mean writing style, it is all up to you. I think every author has different writing style. They do it based on the genre. Chicklit novel is different from the thriller novel. The horror novel is different from the literature. Romance novel is different from the detective novel. I think you have to try to write first then you know which genre are you in.

Depends on what your story is about, like if it's a comedy or anything else. Starting stories is always the tough part, usually if you start with someone saying something. The other day a teacher said we had to write a story beginning with something like "Why cant I go? Everyone else is ______etc." Yeah, not a good example. All your aim is, is to set the mood and get your reader interested. The best way is to think of your favourite book or a book that got you interested in the story right away and see what it was that drew you to it. :P hope this helped..
