Another Dumb Sims Question!!

For anyone who cares the Whitney twins grew into youth with a status of "Little Wonders"!! The family has moved into Whitney Way, a house I designed specificly for their needs and the future is looking pretty good for my read headed simletts :) I have played Sims for about a year and to be honest, I never really seriously played the game. I like the Build feature the best and I can spend hours and hours designing houses and buildings. One of my favorites was when I figured out how to design a "floating house". It's a house that has no first level... just connecting stairs to the second, third and fourth levels. But I digress. My question is this: I want the Whitney twins to do well in school, but they have missed 2 homework assignments. I cant figure out how to make them do homework. I have bookshelves, desks... computers... but none of them come up with a "Do Homework" option. What am I doing wrong??
