Can You Describe Your Childhood in One Word?

United States

What would that word be, and why did you choose that word? When I think about my childhood I think of "interesting, fun, funny, crazy, silly, spoiled." These are only the first words that came to mind right away, but if I could use only one word, that word would be "crazy." Crazy to me could mean a variety of things together, like fun, crazy could mean fun right? Me and my cousins had a blast when we were kids, we did the craziest, silliest things to make eachother laugh, but we also did crazy things to make eachother mad, or even sad. I chose "Crazy" because it literally describes my childhood in many ways, heck it even describes my adulthood. By the way,I thought of the word "spoiled" because I was a spoiled brat, but it wasn't my fault.

"Whine' because there was a lot of whining and screaming done by my mother. She's never satisfied! She's way too overprotective! I'm more of my own person right now, it's better to be independent.

When we moved from the country to Minneapolis it was a not so good neighborhood. They didn't really kno0w that until we had been there for about 6 month's. But you know now we all laugh about it. Then there was this one lady that used to chase us she would yell get away from my trash cans. She would say they belong to me Trash can Annie. We would be OK. Used to put food out for her as she was homeless. She became my friend in away. She stopped yelling at me. Your friend onlydia

hmm, kinda tough question, there are so many words that I can think describing my childhood. But I think the one word that may describe it is "spoiled". Well, I am spoiled little girl, being the youngest in my family and all. I really remember that there are times that I'm having tantrums if I didn't get what I want. Good thing though, my parents still controlled me, they still reprimand and spank me on the times I did an immature and bad things.

Hi kylie, thanks for your answer. That's sounds really familiar. I was worst at throwing random tantrums to get what I wanted, and it usually worked. I got spankings maybe every blue moon, because my parents hated to spank me, but they did it a few times.

It is very much tough to describe the childhood in one word. But too be honest i am a naughty kid in my young age i used to fight with others and have more fun. I am really missing those days. It is really a fun full days. Where i have played, fight and does more things with a lot of friends. But one thing which is more better is that i haven't had any enemies so all fights ended with my friends itself. To be describe it in one words i can able to say that "charming-age". Sorry my answer needed two words.

I think I can count "charming-age" as one word, real interesting compound word to describe your childhood. Thanks for your response.

miraclefreebies my childhood in one word, free, interesting, fun, shy, happy and outdoors. I was raised on a farm in South Dakota and my childhood memories are running free and c limbing trees, and biking, and eating strawberries and watermelon, picking fresh apples, helping with the vegetable garden, eating corn on the cob and fresh strawberries and being a tomboy I learned the names of many plants, and loved to garden. So Happy would be my one word, farm life is fun to kids born on a farm.

That's sounds like an interesting childhood. I wasn't born on the farm but I love the country. It's just something about nature that makes me feel so much at peace. I lived in the country with my parents for about 6 years and I totally enjoyed it to the fullest. Thanks for your answer Hatley.

Blessed I was a spoiled little girl who was very sheltered by her parents and brothers and we moved around a lot and had little money and my mother (my whole life) had a serious medical condition that landed her in the hospital quite a bit. But we always survived and they always made sure- even though I was aware of the situations- that I was happy and healthy. It was not until I became an adult I finally grew up. So blessed be.

I am the only child between my mom and dad, so I had the pleasure of being the center of attention, although I didn't get everything I wanted, because my parents weren't rich, but when I think more about it, I did get everything I needed, and that's my family.

Unique. I feel it was very unique and so far things that happen to me seems to only happen to me, not a lot of persons out there can say they had my childhood or even similar to mine.

LOL if I could describe my childhood in one word I would describe it as (different) because my childhood was what some people might call different and a little strange but thats not really a bad thing I guess if I didnt have the childhood I had I wouldn't be the person I am today and I like who I am.

i would describe my childhood as creative because i was never bored i always found something to do, like play with my sister, with my dogs or go and play with my cousins. i was always active and making up new games to play or doing crazy stuff that my parents told me not to do. i would say that childhood is one of the best times in my life so far. i loved it and i wish i could go back in time and live it once more. i would not change any of it.

Comfortable.we had little in the way of material things, but we were very well looked after,my parents both worked, and so during the school holidays we were what they would have called latchkey kids, but that was acceptable then,it was normal and the only way that parents could work was for the children to look after one another. My sister and I used to play endless games together,we played tennis and board games, dolls ,shops and setting up house together, and the doctors and nurses game that we all enjoyed so much as children. We had one bicycle between us,so we took it in turns to ride it,it was a large black cycle, with a bell and a wicker basket on the front. We had lots of friends in the village,a plus point so we were never really lonely,we both enjoyed our schooling and we were brought up firmly and fairly.

Loved, i would say since i am the eldest grandchild every body's attention is on me and that all love me ever since i was a baby. i was the apple of the eye of my grandparents, uncles and aunts and of course my parents. i would say i am well loved by them but i wasn't a spoiled, my mom and dad would not tolerate that. up until now i am being loved by everyone in the family. great post here. :)

If i would describe my childhood in one word that would be fun. Fun because all i did is play and enjoy every sec of the day with friends. There never come a time that i was not out playing and just doing exciting things when i was a child. Not to mention that every christmas we have lots of things to do. That is one part of my life that i will never forget.
