Window shopping - activity that only browsing through the items but not intended to buy t that time. Do you like that? for me, yes, especially for furniture window shopping, part of the reason is to prepare for my new house. So do you practice that a lot? Thanks for your time for the discussion in advance.

I too did a lot of window shopping with my wife when we were setting up our home! Taking notes when ever we can so that we can compare prices later. It never really hurts to be prepared. Here where I am, it is easier, cos I can just go to one place and you will find lots of different vendors selling all sorts of furniture themes under one roof. Back in Penang, I am sure it is a little tougher cos the different vendors are all sparesly located. So, where is your new place? Flat or landed?

I too hope to one day be able to live in a landed property. But landed housing in Penang is so expensive! It is gonna take a few decades to save enough to even consider getting one. Then a few more decades to service the loan as well! Well, a goal that can be set and hopefully, to achieve as well.

You are correct, need to really have a plan and take notes so to compare the prices when require. So glad that your site have this kind of environment, is easier for the customers and also i believe with everything under 1 roof, the prices range should not have big gap. So the chances to get slash also will reduce. You are correct again

Hi ya adriantys78 I do tend to window shop from time to time but I always have an item in mind that I want to buy. Well I think gone are the days when people did actually look in shop windows to see what they would like to buy as it's done more on the internet these days!

Well what I do is look at it on the internet then check it out in the shop so that I know what it is like, quality, size etc and then if it is cheaper on the internet then I will buy it.

Hmmm, you are smart. I have a bad experience on that where i saw the actual product, is actually a toy for my kid, but after i purchased and delivered to my house, only know that it is mimic product, make me really frustrated. and some more no return policy. So next time i really need to be more careful.

Great pal, you plan before buy, that's good practice and habit. You are correct too where most of the transactions are through internet now. But i do have experience that the items i purchased does not as per my expectation as the picture shown is big, but when received, is kind of small. So i learn that must really look into the product specs from that onwards.

Well, it's been quite some time since I did some serious shopping for long hours. If I'm not mistaken, the last time was when I shopped with my younger female sibling. She was still a college student then while I was already employed as an accounting staff with my first employer way back 1997 to 2002. And every weekends, it used to be a routine for both of us to visit the malls while we do window shopping or some real shopping. We absolutely had a good time doing this one as siblings and as both single females then. Naturally, I paid for all of the stuff we bought; be it mine or hers or for home use, because I was the one working. But since I got married more than five years ago, I rarely go out with my siblings or go shopping anymore. I guess there are more important things or matters which should be prioritized than shopping. There are more bills to pay, loans still outstanding, and we still have no savings for our child's future education. But sometimes, I really miss shopping because we have considered this as a type of recreation during those days.

Hi mykmari, glad that you have your sweet memories till now. It is really fun when you have partner can go shopping together whether is actual shopping or just window shopping. I do have a kid, bills to pay, loan still outstanding, so my plan is i only shop for groceries once or twice a month, and we only buy 1 new things for either me or wife or kid once a month. Is kind of appreciation for the past one month. Life is not long, thus you might have your ways to live happier. Hope my way can help enlighten you somewhere. All the best!!!

yes i alike it but sometimes, i also avoid it. specially when there's this item i really, really like and i still have extra money to purchase it, i really can't resist it. sometimes, the money that i am saving was intended to something else but i have to start saving all over again because i already spend my savings. but on the brighter side, window shopping gives me idea on what's new and in. it also relaxes the tired body.lol!

hi Despompa, you make good points, it does allow people to relax while window shopping and ideas. Another brighter side for you is also you have spend the money you really really like, so it make you feel happy and enjoy after you purchased it, right? Even you have to start saving all over again, but at least you already own something, your initial objective is just delay a little bit. So continue enjoy!

Yes, I do. It gives me the chance to see what I like before buying it. When I don't have the money, I hate to window shop. But, sometimes, I get in the mood to see what new items I can have. I do this very often. I like to, because, I am not spending but planning to spend.

Hi Cream97, glad to see that you do the window shopping very often, it means that you have the money (interpret from your comment, no money no shopping, so now very often shoppinp, means have lots of money). Just joking. . Is really good that you have the planning in place, cause most of my friends overspend and get into heavy debts situation. Wish they can recovery soon too.

Hi Moonlitmagikchild, sometimes is good also if you and him also like, then both of you can get it immediately. Cause sometimes when we go home and think again, the desire to buy is become lesser and might not think of that again.

Oh yes, i like window shopping especially if I go with friends and we'd check out some items like kitchen wares, furnitures and try on shoes. We usually do this after work and we feel like it's so boring going home or we need some exercise after sitting long hours in the office. Window shopping is one great exercise, imagine yourself browsing through clothes and going back and forth and going up and down without using the escalator.

I like it though it's very tiring. I love it because i want browsing what are the best buys---which can fit to my budget. Also, I am very choosy when it comes to buying shoes, bags or even clothes.
