gaining traffic from your site? How fast?

I started my site last october 1, and wondring how to market my site.according to some of our friends here,if i could link my site that would be a source of traffic.I emailed my friends,relatives and close family to visit my site,but how do i know if they do visit my site? I want to monetize my blog using blogger. Can I gain income if somebody just view my site and not leave any comment or tick any ads?hope somebody might help me.been tired reading so many rules and policies..thanks

Hi,
Before I can share some ideas, promise me that you will nor get tired in reading. Otherwise, you will NOT learn because this is the only way you will learn. And definitely, your blog will not a quality traffic.
Why? Because you need to confirm if the one you are reading is for real, and because NOT all that you hear is complete (I don't mean wrong, I mean incomplete). Now, are you ready to read?
First, you may get traffic from link building but it is a very small percentage. This is because link building is ONLY to be popular in search engines, and may vary anytime. This is due to quality of links or when that link was removed.
Yes, you can earn money from your blog if you work very hard, I mean really hard. And you must start by making quality and useful post. This is because no matter how many million visitors you invite, or HIGH PR (which you can get from building) they will only stay on your blog for less than a second.
There are tons of ways to monetize from your blog, and you can only learn them through reading and trying.
But lastly (if you are still reading this), do not blog just to earn money because blogging is a passion, not a work.
I have been a blogger for more than a year, and I am still reading tons of posts everyday. If you cannot take that, find another way to earn money on-line.
By the way, one good way to increase your traffic is to promote it, and one good way to promote it is to place a link at your profile....here at myLot.

I agree with you fatherblogger - you can earn money from your blog if you work very hard
Blogging for money requires a lot of time and effort. It is fun and, with real commitment and determination, it can be profitable.
