Has anyone ever seen a disabled person as a contestant on The Price Is Right?

I have watched this show off and on pretty much my entire adult life. On Wheel of Fortune there have been contestants in wheelchairs, who needed someone to assist with spinning the wheel. On Jeopardy they have had blind contestants who were given braille sheets with the categories on them. There may have been those in wheelchairs on Jeopardy too, but I am not sure. But on The Price Is Right, I have never seen anyone with any kind of handicap picked as a contestant. I have never seen anyone in a wheelchair as a contestant. I may have seen a crutch or two but not because it was anything more than a broken foot or something that would heal over time, and the contestant was able to climb the steps to get up on stage. Does this mean that this show discriminates against the disabled? Do they have a ramp available should a contestant in a wheelchair actually be chosen and win a spot up on stage? What about games like Plinko where the contestant has to climb steps to play? Would they allow someone to assist the player in the wheelchair? What about a blind contestant? Would there be a way for them to use braille to help a blind contestant play the game? Is it a fair game if it does not allow disabled people to play? Would you like to play the game if you had the chance but had to use a wheelchair?

huh. you know i have never seen any disabled person on The Price is Right either. admittedly i dont watch it much at all anymore, and ive never been an everyday watcher, but i used to catch it at least twice a week. i wonder if there ever has been and we just missed it? surely there must have been at least ONE right? now im gonna have to start watching it again and see lol! if i was in a wheelchair i think i would still like to play. but that in itself may be why we've never seen anyone. those that are wheelchair bound may realize that the game they may be playing would be too difficult to attempt? HOPEFULLY that is the reason and not some discriminatory factor is involved!

No, I cannot remember ever seeing anyone in a wheelchair on there. Never thought about it till you mentioned it! I have seen some that had trouble climbing up to the stage.

I wasn't really sure of this myself, but I looked on You Tube and found a clip of a man in a wheel chair playing switcharoo. They had a ramp set up for him to get on stage and they had one of the Price is Right ladies help him by putting the number cubes where he told her to put them. Here's the clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=81Y-qZieJc0 Hope this helps!

YES!!! There has been even since Drew has been host. Recently there was one the spoke using ASL, American Sign Language. This person also was assisted with a fellow interpretor. I have also seen one in a wheelchair. More than once seen the host spin for a contestant due to their diminished abilities.

I total agree. I found your post because I was wondering the same thing. I've never seen a dissabled person on TPIR. So WTF???
