I think the most important thing about being a mom is to look after our children-to keep them safe from harm-to protect our kids and to love them dearly-well a few streets down from me yesterday the police found a two year old wandering the streets at around 6 in the morning-How is this possible? I don't know the whole story behind it but it just boggles my mind how this could have happened. What do you think mylotters? Have you seen or heard of this happening in your neighborhood and what did you think about the situation?

It can happen. I consider myself to be a good mom. I take very good care of my kids. But even the best mom makes mistakes. When my daughter was two she was very sneaky and stubborn. She knew just when that two second time was that you weren't looking at her and she would split. We were bringing in groceries and she was right there, then she was gone. She walked down the side of our house and was out front by the road. I felt horrible but it was a mistake. I don't know whether the parents of that two year old are good or not, but maybe it was just a mistake. My daughter used to try to sneak outside too. We had to put all the latches up really high on the doors. She was smart enough at two years old to open and close the door slowly and quietly so she wouldn't get caught. Scary. I'm glad the kid didn't get hurt. Hopefully if it was an accident the parents will put latches on the doors.

Is it possible that the mother or father didn't think that the girl could get out of the house so they didn't bother baby proofing it? It could have been an honest mistake. Thank god she wasn't hurt though.

i totally agree it could have been an honest mistake thats why i didn't want to comment too much because i didn't know the whole story but also anyone that has a child isn't the first thing you do when they learn to walk is baby proof the house-Happy mylotting

Oh my god, it is really a shock to me when saw the post. I really wonder how the situation get happened? Because the door didn't close properly and the kid get chance to move out from there? or the mother busy with buying breakfast and somehow forgot the kid? It is really dangerous for 2 years old kid to move around on streets. Accident may happened, then everything is too late, cry also useless. Being a parent is really full of responsible.
