Have you ever had a knitting deadline that you almost didn't make? I was knitting a baby afghan and the baby shower was Sunday. Well Sunday morning I was still not finished, but was sure I could get it done even if I had to go to the shower a little late. I knitted in the van on the way to church and on the way home, and my family helped get dinner ready so I could keep knitting. I finished at 1:15pm, just 45 minutes before the shower was to begin.

It seems like I do this on a regular basis. I don't remember many Christmas Eves that I wasn't knitting up a storm, trying to get something finished by morning. 45 minutes, though... that's really down to the wire!

I can't stay up late knitting, I'll start making too many mistakes. I don't usually cut it that close. Happy Knitting!

well a few years ago i gave myself my own deadline when i started to knit myself a sweater i got the yarn for Christmas and i gave myself a deadline to have the sweater finished by next fall so that i could wear it for the next season but then fall came and went and i still was not even half way done so i pushed the deadline back to finishing it right before Christmas...well that was about two years ago and it still is not finished haha my life just picked up and i got so busy that i did not have time to knit at least i did not have anyone waiting on me haha

That happens to me also, where I get busy and don't have time for things. For example, MyLot. Not sure how long it has been since I logged in last.

I've had times where I've cast off in the car outside the place where the party is being held.

Since my earlier comment there have been a few afgans that I just had to give to the person at a later date. Most recently I've made a shawl for my daughter, for graduation. Had it done 2 weeks ahead of time.
