With money becoming increasingly tight a lot of people have tightened their purse-strings, so what is the most unqiue way you have saved money?

All of our money goes directly into the bank on payday. We buy only things that can be paid for right at that moment. Never carry a balance on a credit card. If I am saving for something special or a special event, I usually will cut on the groceries that I buy. My kids love eating breakfast for dinner~ very inexpensive, so we may have it on Monday and again on Saturday one week.

Thanks for BR.. I went for groceries today and only spent $60. I usually spend $175. I decided to start using stuff that is in the freezer so I can save a little more this week.

I just put most of the money in the bank in order not to spend it unknowingly and keep some to deal with everyday spendings.

I am the kind of person who can be trusted with money in wallet. The money seems to vanish in my case. So I usually buy a thing I want to in installments so I will pay it at month begnning and will be forced to adjust with current amount I have.
