Do you have a child who is a teenager or almost to that age? Are they over-dramatic? How do you handle it? How did your parents handle it when you were over-dramatic? Which method do you feel was the most effective?

My s/o has a teenage daughter that is over-dramatic, she is presently vying for Drama Queen, but she will have to unseat my oldest daughter first! LOL The best way that I found to handle it is to ignore it! Whatever is causing a drama today, won't be tomorrow. It will only make it more of a drama if you give into it and make it a bigger deal. By ignoring it, they usually figure out for themselves it was not that big of a deal.

I have a 16 year old daughter. She is very dramatic with me. It gets on my nerves alot fo times too. I handle it with everything I have left in me. I try to understand where she is coming from but I also set rules and guidelines for her to follow also. I try to teach her the adult ways of life on how to handle things like this also. She has to learn that life gives us alot of things to go through and we must deal with them the best way possible.

I'm a teenager, and I resent this. My mom is the dramatic one! It's hard to live with her, she acts like a teenager, gossiping and whining, while I keep quiet most of the time.
