Read to me...... PLEASE!!

I am a child at heart in many, many ways. At least once a day I think of something that makes me wish I were still a child. I personally think it is a healthy way to live. Everyday my son, (knowing I am going to read something to him, because I never miss a day) says "Read to me..... PLEASE!" .....and I smile. He IS my son! I love, LOVE, totally love to be read to. Please read something to me today. Anything you choose..... a children's book, a poem you just wrote or read yourself and loved it, even an article from your local newspaper. Will you read to me, please????? What will you read? Tell me about it.

You would like Shel Silverstein poetry. He is very fun. He wrote mostly for kids but I know oodles of adults who love them. http://faculty.weber.edu/chansen/humanweb/projects/MeghanUng/poems.htm Yes, you made me smile, indeed.

I loved reading to my kids and they were always good readers who enjoyed reading, too. My granddaughter, who is 16 months old, will come over, shove a book in our faces, and say, "Boo", which means "book" to her. You must read it over and over, until she is bored. It is so funny but then she will sit down and will read it herself. It even sounds as if she is reading it, too! LOL

Sure I will read to you. Can you hear me clear from Florida? I love to read as well. I enjoy reading to my children. But they are both 8,10, and 17. So none of them want mommy to read to them anymore. But they do enjoy reading to me every great once in awhile.

I would read "To Touch a Heart" by Jill Holmes.......and that would be me. It's a collection of short stories and poetry...and I consider my poems gifts of love. You can read them, then share them with someone you love! My favorite childrens book is also about about love....I give one to each grandchild on their first Christmas. I put them in my lap...have their mommy and daddy sit close and read to them "I'll love you forever".

You just sold a book, my friend! I have visited your website many times and have intended to purchase it before. Tonight you closed the deal. :) "I'll Love You Forever" is perhaps one of the best children's books ever written.

You got me thinking. I cant remember the last time someone read to me 1 on 1 (that is to say outside school or on tv). I remember when I was small my father would sit me on his lap and read to me and I loved it. I read to my son every day and he pretends to read to me and that is funny. I would do what I do with my son. I will let you choose the book or books and then I am going to read them for you how those that sound to you.

**Smiling** I can just imagine it, violeta_va. It is heart warming to know that they do listen to us and learn from us. My son and I were reading at a park the other day.... he was pretending to read to me then said "Are you getting sleepy? How about one more page?" just like I do at bedtime.

My pleasure. Rosie. I have a load more to upload at some time. What's Kayleigh's favourite story? If it's short enough (less than 10 minutes) I might read it if I can find the book here.

I am read to, because I love it even if I'm a grown up, via audio books. I listen to them before sleeping at night. It makes me so happy. You should try it. If I was going to read to you. I'd read you Charlie and the Chocolate Factory or any Ramona book, or perhaps a Fudge book. I also love reading sci fi on the audio book.

I will read to you a poem my sister wrote and published in my honor because I love Full Moon's. Blame it on the Moon When the moon is full and the stars are bright, the nightingale sings in the dark of night,a bird flies through the moon lit sky a hoot owl hoots somewhere on high She runs through the night like a restless breed.Throws caution to the wind, and takes no heed. A heart on fire with yearning pain,to escape a world of everyday chains. She looks to a moon full and bright and says to herself I have the right,to fly in the wind where echoes are heard, beckoning, come fly free bird. Then you'll see her standing there, the moonlight on her long dark hair. She walks in rays with a restless breed, her soul's on fire, but her spirit is free. She wrote this in 2003 and I have cherished since. You have a great night.

makingpots hi I used to love to be read to. I still remember my dad reading out of the Saturday Evening Post to my mom. It always was a comforting feeling as a little child to hear my dad read'aloud to my mom. I had already been read to and tucked in bed. When my own children were little I always read to the two of them. They were just eleven months apart. I found that my son already knew how to read before he went to kindergarten, and still loves to read as do I.

I am sure you are a huge part of his love of reading. Good job, mom! My dad has a big, resonant, bass voice and he was always being asked to narrate things in church when I was growing up. He would practice around the house, sometimes after I went to be, and I always loved it. You took me right back to that memory with this response. Thanks..
