Fashion is indeed stupid sometimes...

This is about that recall and pulling off the shelves of TKMaxx jackets that came with a FREE pen knife! With the current knife crime, one would have thought the store would have had a thorough look at this merchandise and thought this one through sale or no sale... It does make one wonder who designed, who stocked and who is selling these items? What if they'd gone into the wrong hands? Anyone come across the story? What do you/did you think of it? Have you come across any similar awkward or inappropriate and dangerous fashion accessories? http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/3126602/TK-Maxx-sold-jackets-with-knifes-attached.html

That's really shocking.. And i wonder whose idea was it, to give away a pen knife with that jackets?? Isit the designer or is it the shop whom wants more publicity?? Anyway, it's better to recall those jackets so that nobody will be hurt if it's being put to wrong use.. However this is not the 1st time fashion had come out with all these stupid things.. IN the past, they have knuckles shape buckles for belt, or metal sruds for belts as well.. lol =D I wonder what those designers are actually thinkiung about when they designed all these.. lol

Hey marina, Wow that is really something! Who in their right mind thought up that one? That is really ridiculous! Selling a coat with a knife in it. What was the coat manufacturer trying to say with that? I just can't imagine how that possibly got through to the stores. It's just such an unbelieveable thing. It's lucky that it was found out as soon as it was and before they were sold and hit the streets and before anyone was hurt or worse. The manufacturer should be sued. I just can't imagine what they had in mind when the decided to put the knife with the coat. Since when is a knife an accessory?

Seriously stupid , who will love to have knife in their jacket? wont it hurt the person who is wearing ? why should we worry it is going to hurt the others , first the person wears it will be hurt then only the others , i think all robbers and cheaters will be pretty happy for this kind of invention lol , i dont think it will get the publics attraction , all will oppose it , no man will carry a knife in his dress for sure..

that’s not a fashion accessory, that’s something that can be very harmful. They should not give something like that for free.. I understand fashion being crazy with weird colors or bling blings that are unnecessary, that’s way way better fashion than the free pen knife that they are giving out. This is really very alarming especially when with the very high crime rates now, they should not make knives as fashion accessories.. or any object that are sharp and that could possibly cause harm.

I have not seen the jacket but as for me I would want one. When I go fishing as you need a knife handy. And when you go camping and or hunting. Maybe they were going for the outdoors thing. one never knows. Your friend onlydia

If that is the case i think they need to check every merchandise and take off any free pen knife. I dont understand why they think a free pen knife is a good idea to attract buyers. Fashion could be sometimes stupid. There are even times when i watch fashion shows i didnt get the idea anymore why some designers have this hideous design and they think it is fashionable lol

What a strange and weird item to offer for free with a purchase. Very odd. I can't even think of anything else to say because it's just too weird, lol.

I would think they could sell these, but I would think that it would be something that would be behind a locked counter as it had a knife with it. It should be treated the same as any other sharp instrument/knife merchandise. I have never come across anything like this before, but I can't imagine putting it out there with regular clothing. Have a nice day and happy myLotting!!!

I also think that is stupid. It is like encouraging crime. There are many crimes happening that got related to knife. This kind fashion like help the robbers or people do crime. They have easy knife and can use when they want. Buying that kind jacket for children is sure dangerous. We never know when the children will use the knife to play and injured their self and other people around them.

I haven't seen or heard the news about this, but I have to agree. With all the violence in the world, who could have thought it would be a good idea to design a jacket to include a free knife of any kind! Duh! I suppose they were selling to the current trends, but that anyone would actually put it out there and think there wouldn't be repercussions, makes no sense to me.

Yup, makes no sense at all that they could possibly give away a free knife with a coat!

That's unbelievable. I worked in retail and I cannot imagine that these would even be considered by buyers today.

I saw this on the news the other day and couldnt believe how stpid some people can be So the knife is actually on the jacket??

I saw this in the paper - I think it's completely disgusting and irresponsible. A company as big as that should really have more of a sense of social responsibility! Surely someone at TK Maxx must have thought hmm, you know if this gets to the papers it may not cast us in the most positive light?! I just hope the knives haven't got into the wrong hands.

I read this article with disbelief. I cannot believe the stupidity of some people. Surely this idea should have been shelved even before it hit the shops. Especially with the amount of knife crime there is these days. It makes you wonder how many have been sold all ready. It just goes to show that fashion is stupid and irresponsible at times.

Hi marina321, I think it was absolutley sensless to sell those clothes and think the makers should be charged, I heard this in the news but I just cannot believe what sort of people do that, I sure half of those jackets have already been sold, I am disgusted. Tamara

yes... i totally accept.. i sawed some cities conducting fashion shows and miss.(country) shows after bomb blast and during wars.. is it so important on those types of situations? in the name of fashion, i dislike girls who wearing (Sometimes towel as dress)dress very least. if i get a chance i'll smash then away. their parents are the reasons for not caring them well.
