friends do you wear seat belts while driving i mean when you drive within your city limits and when you drive outside from your city that is on highways and main wide roads where there is much need of these seat belts and it also ensures 70 % protection whereas seat belts are not needed in the city areas because most of the areas in our country are crowded and road infrastructure is in developing stages so tell about you and your country happy mylotting

Hi nutanjain, In our country as soon as we get into the car we have to put our seat belts on, the driver and the passagers have to, its against the lwa not to put them on, if you get caught by the police without the seat belts on you will be fine. There are strict laws here. Tamara

Minnesota USA also has mandated seat belt laws. Not a large fine yet but still a fine none the less. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I live in the states, North Carolina to be specific. It is a state law to wear your seatbelt. If you are caught without one you will get a hefty ticket. My friend got stopped without his on and it was $150 for the ticket. I always wear mine even if I am just going just down the street. One can never be too careful these days. Besides I cannot afford a ticket! My dad has a medical excuse not to wear one and he never wears his. I feel vunerable without it.

For sure! They are heavy fines and can cause points on your license that will increase your insurance as well. Big time expensive!

I do wear my seat belt but not because I want too. My car is a new Toyota Camry and if my seat belt is not locked it starts making a loud ping and gets louder every 3 seconds, it will not shut off until the belt is locked. I even tried to fool it by locking it before I got in but that don't work either. But we have a seat belt law so this keeps me from getting a ticket for not wearing one. Next it will be fines for talking on cellphone while driving, then smoking, as these too cause a lot of accidents.

I don't know about the entire US but in California wearing a seatbelt is mandated by law and it's a pretty hefty fine if you get caught not wearing it. The state also requires child restraints and motorcycle helmets. I always wear my seatbelt anyway. Before the law was enacted I got in an accident. I was rear ended. I had two passengers. I was wearing a seatbelt and they were not. I had a minor case of whiplash that went away almost immediately. They had much worse whiplash and had to see a doctor. They would have been much better off with their seatbelts on.

We always wear seatbelt even at places where there is no police officer. It is for safety precaution and if ever there are officer hiding on the side of the road i know we have nothing to worry since we have no violations. It is very important too when your travelling far places so that when accident happens you have a bigger chance of surviving compared when your not wearing it. We never knew when accident happen so better be sure first than regret it later.

Personally I feel that seatbelts are a very good thing, and having them be required is one of the best things they have ever done. Anyone who refuses to do this should not be allowed to keep their license when caught as well. Overall seatbelts save lifes and they are a necessity, so anyone who feels any differently I hope I never have to be with in a car as well.

I think that wearing a seatbelt is very important. Studies show that people who die during car accidents are usually not wearing seatbelts. It doesn't matter if you are driving within the city limits or outside of it. The point is that if you want to be safe on the road, you need to wear your seatbelt and follow traffic rules and regulations.

I wear them because in the U.S. even the city streets can get some speed up and I actually do a lot of inside city highway driving. It is also the law.

Dear friend, I do wear seat belt as it is law in India and especially strict in our local area in southern state called Kerala. Moreover I feel much ease while driving too. But if the seating is not proper it would be much restless and uncomfortable. But mostly I do put seatbelt even if I am driving in places were there is no police checking also.

When it was first madatory for us to wear seat belts i felt like the givernement was trying to rule me again. But now I would not leave anywhere without wearing my seat belt. I guess once you get in a habit which you know is a good thing you tend to stick with it

Restrictive or not it is the law and i do wear mine as a matter of fact i started wearing mine when my girls were small (it wasn't law then) because i wanted them to think that it was normal to buckle-up as soon as they got into a car.

actually, I'm not comfortable wearing seatbelts while driving. however driving within the city requires to wear your seatbelt or else police/traffic enforcer will issue me ticket for the violation (though I've been issued several time before..some traffic enforcer take bribes!) and let me go, like nothing happens. but once i'm out of the city, and i'm driving within my comfort zone..i mean on our community, i take it off. and lean forward so near the steering wheel and turn the music loud enough on the street..

No I don't buckle up. I don't like seatbelts, prefer to drive free. In the city it is very crowded so there is no need. On the highway there is no trafic so no need either. Here it is law and penalties are very stiff (3 points and 3-digit fine), but I just slip it on my shoulder when I see a cop and then I take it right off.
