Having a dog groomer

I have two miniature poodles. I used to travel by bus, drop my dogs at a groomer and pay lots of money. Now I have found a mobile dog groomer that comes to my house and her charges are much lower and I don't have to pay bus fares. My dog Magic ran upstairs happily and she had a lovely trim. My dog Secret was nervous and wet himself when I handed him over to the dog groomer. Oh, he is so nervous.
Do you get your dogs clipped?
Have you got a nervous or brave dog?

I have 4 dogs but only 2 get groomed. The groomer lives about a block away. She is the greatest groomer I have ever met. My dogs have been show dogs but do not necessarily like being groomed. She makes them feel at home. They come home looking fabulous. I feel that it is very important to find the right groomer for your dog so they can have a great experience with grooming.

Hi Lisa. I always thought show dogs must like being groomed. It is wonderful that your groomer lives so nearby and your dogs get on so well with her. Yes, she is fantastic for making them feel at home. The current groomer is the best I have found. It must be superb to have four dogs, I only have two.

Show dogs do not have to like being groomed they just have to put up with it.....lol. My one dog whenever you touch him with a brush he whines. He is medically fine just puts up a fuss. I really do like my groomer she is the best I have ever seen. The four dogs are nice to have sometimes. But sometimes drive me nuts...lol.

Two of my dogs have short hair so I don't need to clip them but the one that has the longer hair I clip myself. He doesn't like the shears at the groomers so I just do it myself with scissors and he sits quietly whilst I do like a good little dog! : )
