How often do you take a family vacation?

I was thinking about saving up to take a yearly vacation. How often do you take your family on vacation? How do you save up for these trips? My family take 1 big family vacation (for about 7 or 8 days) per year, in the summer- to the beach or Disney. We usually try to take a couple mini vacations (3 days) to visit family. We have a savings account set up just for that. when you have an extra hundred or two $ just throw it in the account. It will add up fast.

i try to take a vacation with my family whenever possible. my family consist of my parents, my partner and myself. i don't go on vacation with my sister as we need someone home to take care of our cats. if money is tight, we will go somewhere near. probably just a road trip lasting two or three days in the neighbouring country. if we have money, we'll go further, taking a flight to other countries. the flights last between two to six hours. we don't really specifically save for vacations. we usually go on vacation when i get some bonus at work or have spare cash at hand. cheers ;p

It's new thing that I get from you, you use your bonus at work for vacation, really the people in another country is not similar. Thank for your sharing

Well, usually my husband and I save up and try to take a Vacation somewhere about once a yr. Last yr. we went to New Jersey and NYC, and had a blast. We are actually in the process of trying to start to save up to go do something for a couple of days in FEB as our 10 yr. anniversary is then as well. But usually besides a small get away here or there we try and do something nice, or bigger once a yr. if we can afford to do it as well. It helps to find time to get away as well.

We go on a family vacation once a year and it is always to a beach area. I take $20 out of every paycheck and put it aside for vacation. Then when I get paid by my online sites, I usually take that money and add it to the vacation fund. Growing up, I never went on family vacations, so it is a priority for me to take my children on vacation.

Once a year we go to the Outer Banks NC, my husband grew up on the ocean and that is where a large part of his family and freinds still remain. Its also the first place each of our children ever put their sweet little toes in the great Atlantic Ocean. We save through the year and usually rent a house oceanfront for a week (7 days), a hundred dollars a month and all the excess left over from the budget that was set aside for bills that we ended up not needing (example power bill estimate $300.00, actual 275.00 then we put the other $25.00 in the account too) that really adds up fast. Happy Vacationing!
