ebay spammer

October 9, 2008 12:17pm CST
About half an hour ago I receieved a message from another ebay member saying that I had purchased something to do with money making and hes sent me some info about spread betting. I have no intention of signing up as he is clearly a grifter, but is he allowed to do this, send me a message in that way?

Any sort of messaging and contacting ebay members or sellers outside of Ebay are considered dangerous and should not be entertained. This is because anything can happen outside of Ebay; there is just no sense of security in such a situation and Ebay will not be responsible for any loss or damage that occurs from interactions and purchases made outside of the Ebay site. As such, like what another person has mentioned, you should report such an Ebay user to Ebay so that they can take the necessary steps and actions against such users. Just as a rule of thumb, any messaging sent by another member outside the Ebay system should be ignored and regarded as malicious or spam; and remember to report to Ebay!

Nope he is not. If you think he is a spam, you should contact the customer service of ebay and tell them regarding that matter. I am sure they will tell you what to do.

People are not really allowed to do that on any site. It's annoying and most likely ineffective. So, just report it and it should be settled soon.
