a simple hi or hello would always work. then you just be yourself. everything will be fine then

hi friend,i cannot praise myself but ya i am good at starting conversations....... its very easy u just have to start by first wishing him/her............. then u ask him/her name......... then u introduce yourself to him/her in the best possible manner............ then start talking casually if he/she shows interest ........ i hope that this might help u. and the most important thing that u should remember is that u should be confident. so best of luck........

we were at a bar and some girl just came up and asked if we wanted to shoot darts, i am NOT good at starting a conversation with strangers, i'm very shy and reserved, i think it comes from my not wanting to look like a dumbarse..

I would start the conversation with a word of Hi and hello. Then asking how she/he is doing and his/her name. And then conversation will go on and on and then we become friends. I am not the type of person who would just sit beside that person and not saying anything. If he/she is shy to approach me, I would make the first move. If she/he does not feel talking to me then I will just ended it with a smile.

Thanks. i see, you're very good at starting a conversation. Sometime i really look like the type of person who just sit beside other and saying nothing. Actually, i don't know what i should say. now i am learning to say something and not to be shy.

That is one of the biggest challenges there is. I have no idea how to do it! Hopefully you are in a place where there is something going on, so you can talk about it. If you're on a bus, you can ask them where they are going. At least, if the stranger doesn't lie you, you'll probably never see them again, so it's good to at least try.

Many people usually start it with the weather lol Its so easy, you just comment on if its hot or cold, and you have talking material for the next ten minutes hehehe. For me it depends on a situation, but I do always try to find something we might have in common (the obvious thing you get from observing) and thats a strater. I never start with something like politics its BAD starter lol
